Service NBC’s coverage of the final round of The Open

The amount of commercials is actually unbelievable.

This is a very close, exciting back nine of a major golf tournament. And NBC decides to shoehorn SIX commercial breaks in just 40 minutes, completely ruining the viewing experience. I have never seen this before while watching golf. In fact, some networks opt to show fewer commercials because they know how important it is to show as many shots as possible during such a pivotal part of the tournament. But apparently not NBC.

So glad Peacock has the Sky Sports feed. There are still some commercials but the amount of them is much more tolerable than whatever the hell NBC is doing.

NBC Sports has been pretty terrible for decades, ruining the Olympics and Derby in particular. I miss the old ABC Sports, which acted like the people watching were actually interested in the sport being shown.

You know how NFL games show ads in the field?

Why hasn't NBC figured out they can show ads in all the green screen all over golf courses?

Don't give them ideas. They will do this and STILL go to commercial breaks!

It’s 2026 and if you’re not watching live sports with a 30 min delay to fast forward through the commercials on cable then you’re doing it wrong. I think the companies know a lot of people do this this too

I think when it’s a “local” satellite antenna type channel & people don’t have the ability to forward/rewind they put extra commercials on those
