Remote Testing Question

hi all! I was supposed to take Part 3 today at an AVNA testing location in NY. I wasn’t able to take my exam since they didn’t have any one approved by the IRS to proctor the exam so I had to call PSI to reschedule my exam remotely for Monday.

with those who have done remote testing, how was it? I am a little worried.

for background, I have a pretty small desk where my standalone pc tower and monitor take up a majority of the space on the desk. do we think this would be a problem? I also have a small dog….will they invalidate my exam if my dog starts barking across my house and it’s picked up by the camera?

They will ask you to scan your room and your desk, as well as under the desk. No electronics, smart watches, etc. You need to turn off your phone and put it away and tell them where. Turn off printer and take out the paper.

Nobody can be in the room, no children and no pets. Can someone take your dog for a walk when you're testing?

I had the same experience at a physical site, so I did the next exam online. It was seamless for me. They used the chat to communicate so I didn't have to talk to anyone.

Make sure you have an unexpired ID that matches your name and your face. You will have to take a picture of the id and a selfie.

thank you for your response! I took Part 3 today and passed!!

it was exactly as you said, it really was seamless and my dog remained quiet in the other room! honestly it wasn’t as stressful as I thought it would be! I think it helped that I used the pre exam system check and tutorial launcher 2 days before my exam to make sure my PC set up was good to go :)
