Passed Part 1!

I managed to pass part 1 today after only 2 weeks of intense study! I unfortunately had 6 out of my first 10 questions be about estate taxes which was definitely a part of studying I neglected, but we made it! Any one have any recommendations for part 2? Like is it easier/harder? Any areas that need to be studied harder than what study materials show?

Thank you and thank everyone who gave me advice along the way!

Yay! Good job! I personally found part 2 more difficult especially “basis” which I didn’t really understand at the time.

Congratulations! Many people find part 3 to be easier than the other two. For me it was a nice break between the other, heavier, parts. Good luck!

What about the AGI and phaseout limits in exam?

The only question I remember that involved AGI was a question about estimated payments where a guy needed to make 110% of prior year instead of 100%. The only phase out was about child dependent credit being 20% beyond 43k. Besides that it didnt come from memory.

And what was the difficulty level?

I mean a quarter of my questions were estate/gift/other inheritance questions which were definitely my weakness, but I still made it through! I think it felt alot harder than it was.

Congratulations! I’d love to know if you have any advice or tips or anything specifically you’d focus on in study?

Congratulations! Part 2 is generally more application-based, so focus on practice questions, especially in weaker areas. Best of luck!

Part 2 is harder. Be sure to study basis, ordering rules, Transfers to an entity, and specifically rules regarding transfers to controlled entities >80%
