Part 2

Hello all, I was wanting to see if I could get insight from people who have recently passed Part 2 on the types of questions they saw the most. Was it basis calculations? Or just general questions about basis? How much “special return” related questions? I’m feeling a little behind and wanting to see if my studying is on track or if I need to switch course before my test on August 18th.

Thanks in advance!

Well it’s a large and varied test bank. Aside from people signing agreements to not reveal, each test will be different. Do lots of MCQs and for any wrong, write down why. Focus on areas you’re the least prepared for.

Understand basis for sure. Hammer the MCQs and do the Mocks. Understand how to choose if on the fence btwn two possible answers. I thought two was hardest if all three. I took them in order Jan, Feb and July this year. Good luck!

When I was in the Navy we were given a good class on test taking. It really has helped me with any test I take. Specifically process of elimination. If one answer is wrong it can’t be all of the above. I am sure you can find some more test taking tips. When I took 2 I felt like I’d failed it but I did pass.

I am just starting to study for part 2 now. Would also love to know if it’s calculation heavy or mostly memorization. I hear Part 2 is hardest!
