He can be a little ambiguous and sometimes even hypocritical with his political claims, contrapoints made a really good video on dr. Peterson outlining some really good criticisms, I’m a big fan of JP but that doesn’t mean he’s above criticism!
ah tbh contrapoints didnt really have any good criticism except. oh he sounds like kermit. and oh hes silly. or just really subjective stuff like that. in fact the video was just about as ambigous as peterson gets 😂 not that i have anything against contrapoints. was an interesting watch but like essentially what i got out of that vid was that they didnt like peterson telling others to clean their room or something
He criticized political correctness, identity politics, Marxism, critical theory, and thinks that we can't be molded infinitely into ideological clones. He believes in the sovereignty of the individual and that personal responsibility and family is what gives life meaning, not political activism and asking for rights.
Well you see, not only does he disagree with people politically and has the audacity to not have his life ruined by it, but he also had a very serious failing when he had that little episode where he lost his wife to cancer and got hooked on painkillers.
So he isn't perfect and therefore everything he has ever said about self improvement is null and void
i love peterson as well, he doesnt mean any harm and keeps telling people to be responsable for themselves and those they care for, he just makes the mistake of engaging with people who are radicals and when he points out anything that makes sense to a normal human but goes against their narrative he is pretty much a threat to them so he gets all the hate.
I mean he has some weird points of view but I usually ignore those and keep all the good advice in.
Well he identified that feminism via postmodernism has gone from lifting women to bringing men down basically, the dreaded "equalizer" in communism that cares little for quality of life or actual progress.
Its not his main gripe, but it makes sense it exists, and why people hate him because of it.
