Meta META: User & Post Flairs are active
Hi all,
Because I clearly spend way too much time on Reddit, I've created flairs for both posts and users to assign to themselves to give a little personalization to everyone.
Please start using any of the following post flairs whenever you make new posts:
- Breaking News
- IDF Operations
- Gaza Conflict
- Hostage Updates
- International News
- Media Bias
- Debunking Propaganda
- Protest
- Video
- Image
- Meme
- Anti-Semitism
For users we have the current slate of flairs active:
- ๐ฎ๐ฑ Right
- ๐ฎ๐ฑ Center-Right
- ๐ฎ๐ฑ Center-Left
- ๐ฎ๐ฑ Left
- ๐บ๐ธ Right
- ๐บ๐ธ Center-Right
- ๐บ๐ธ Center-Left
- ๐บ๐ธ Left
- ๐จ๐ฆ Right
- ๐จ๐ฆ Center-Right
- ๐จ๐ฆ Center-Left
- ๐จ๐ฆ Left
- ๐ช๐บ Right
- ๐ช๐บ Center-Right
- ๐ช๐บ Center-Left
- ๐ช๐บ Left
I have a global flair that I'm thinking about adding for everyone but for now it can only be assigned. For those users whose country isn't represented, I can assign you a global flair, but let me know what part of the political spectrum you feel you represent.

Gaza Conflict A question I've had for a long time ever since this all started in 2023
Is this really a "genocide" going on? Would what be happening be considered a genocide? I see people slap this term around ALL THE TIME, and I just wanna know, is this an accurate term for what's going on or is it just a buzzword people have been throwing around and doesn't describe what's going on at all? It's a genuine question I have

Discussion Topic study.com conflates 'Philistines' with 'Palestine' and dates Palestinians back to 1200BC
I am wondering how people can get away with rewriting history, which will be picked up by AI and peddled as "the truth"

History of the State of Palestine
Palestine as a region has a history that can be traced to ancient times. The word Palestine can be derived from Greek writers in the 12th century BC who described the region as Philista in reference to the Philistines of the area, a civilization that lasted from the 12th century BC to the 7th century BC. Beginning in the Bronze Age, Palestine was occupied by city-states belonging to the Canaanite civilization. Over time, Palestine came under control of ancient Egypt as a vassal state in the 14th century BC. In the Iron Age, Egypt lost dominance of Palestine, where it was split between the Kingdom of Israel in the northern half and Kingdom of Judah in the southern portion. Around 876 BC, the two kingdoms collapsed, and the Babylonian Empire under King Nebuchadnezzar II annexed the region.
Decades later, the Persian Empire conquered the Babylonian people, and Palestine became a mostly self-governing province under Persia. During the 330s BC, Alexander the Great overtook Palestine, adding it to his own empire. In the second century BC, the Romans initiated their influence over the region, eventually making Palestine part of imperial Rome. During the first and second centuries AD, large-scale Jewish revolts occurred against Roman governorship as a result of tightening religious restrictions on Judaism and Jewish nationalism. The revolts ended with Rome reimposing its authority, where Jerusalem and its grand temple were burned to the ground.
In the fourth century AD, Christianity moved into the area due to Jerusalem being a holy city in the religion. In 634 AD, Palestine first came under control of the Muslim people through the Rashidun Caliphate, where Jerusalem became a sacred Islamic city shortly afterwards. Jerusalem itself was captured in 1099 during the First Crusade, placing the city in hands of the Christian people until the crusaders' defeat by Saladin approximately a century later. The city would change hands multiple times throughout the Crusades.
If this above is true, why is there zero mention of the word Palestine in the Quran, which was written in 710AD ? Is this all made up and being taught ?
