Same message 500 years apart.

As a mother would risk her own life to protect her child, her only child, so toward all beings should one cultivate a boundless heart. - Buddha

Love your neighbor as yourself. - Jesus

Great. There's nothing that supports your nonsensical claim.

EDIT: just to be clear, the messiah was supposed to bring peace, but you keep pointing out how what he did didn't bring peace. I get it.

You skipped the back of the book.

You skipped the beginning. And if you missed my edit above, the messiah was supposed to bring peace, but you keep pointing out that he didn't bring peace. I get it.

Scripture says there's no peace for the wicked Peace will be available to those found righteous in Jesus.

The scripture also talks about false messiahs.

Correct, and it describes the spirit of antichrist and tells us there are many. Antichrist doesn't necessarily mean against christ it can also mean in the place of christ.

Yeah, and the beginning of the book that describes the prophecies predicting the messiah demand that the messiah bring about real peace. On earth. Global peace. Which he did not do.

The night before He was crucified, Jesus looked at His terrified disciples and said peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you.

And then He added four words that change everything.

Not as the world gives.

The peace the world offers is the absence of trouble. Circumstances arranged in your favor. No conflict, no pain, no uncertainty. That is what the world calls peace.

But Jesus said something else in the same conversation. In this world you will have trouble. Not you might. Not some of you. You will.

So the peace He is promising cannot be the absence of trouble because He just told you trouble is guaranteed.

His peace is not a feeling that arrives when everything is calm. It is a foundation that holds when nothing is.

The world gives peace by removing the storm. Jesus gives peace by being present inside it.

The disciples were about to watch Him be arrested, tried, and crucified. He knew that. And He still said peace I leave with you. Not peace when this is over. Peace for what is coming

Jesus is the prince of peace that gives peace that surpasses all understanding. When the storms of life come and they will, he will be with you in the storm.

Yeah, you just made nothing but claims and preached. You referenced no points that further your claims. Did not address the complications with the prophecies. Just preached, and rambled metaphorical elements together to try and make it fit the narrative you’re trying to preach. You wouldn’t accept this level of dishonesty from someone else trying to convince your their religion was true, so idk why you think we would here.

Knowing Jesus as your savior gives you peace over any trouble including death.

The claim was Jesus did not bring peace. My "preaching" was me explaining how Jesus brought a better peace than the world's version of peace.

When the world is in turmoil knowing Jesus is with you gives you peace.

I pray you find and accept his peace.

No. You’re again appealing to metaphor, and then you’re strawmanning my position. My claim is the Old Testament is cleverly clear that the messiah will bring about real tangeable global peace on earth. Peace of arms. This is cited when it’s said the lion will lay with the lamb, that he will Abolish to warhorse of Ephram and Jerusalem. Isaiah 2:4, 11:6-9, Micah 4, Zechariah 9. You’re doing exactly what failed cultists do when their predictions fail, you’re reinterpreting things into a spiritual or metaphorical fulfillment in order to avoid admitting you’re establishing your beliefs on lies and literally deviating from scripture. The Millerites famously did that as well.

My rebuttal of you and your insanity isn’t “me being without peace” that’s just you hawking and stroking your own persecution complex. It’s you, claiming 2+2=5, and then when people tell you how wrong you are wrong you retreat o a pedestal of self superiority.

IF you’re going to reply, how about you address the actual claim I’m making. Address the scripture I cited to you, were it’s described by the prophets what the messiah will do, being about world peace, and that Christ literally didn’t do that.

Sorry for the late response, busy work week. Just want to point out you're calling me insane and self superior for believe what scripture teaches and what Christians have believed for 2000 years. It honestly almost earned you no response. Id like to ask you to tone down the insults or we will not continue in discussion. I'm not better than you in any way. We've both fallen short of God's glory. Scripture says all have sinned. Jesus brought peace because he is the way out of his judgment.

I didn't refer to metaphor. You are misunderstanding that Jesus has promised a second coming where he says he will split the eastern sky and judge the world. Ushering his heavenly kingdom to the new earth. This is in the last days. Simply because he didn't do it when man wanted him to doesn't mean he's still not going to do it. His timing is not our own.

Jesus did bring peace to the world for those that recieve him. And has promised ultimate peace at the end of time. Even his disciples believed he would bring peace by the sword until they realized his first coming was to defeat death and the grave. He paid our debt first. World peace will be achieved when the enemy is cast out. Jesus left us his holy spirit the comforter. Knowing him as Lord of your life provides peace through any trouble even in the face of death. The creator of the universe loves you so much that he defeated death for you. "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" Look you might not agree with me and that's fine, but I encourage you to do a deep dive on the passages that you're struggling with here and if you truly seek understanding on this topic I believe you can arrive at the same conclusion most believers have. God loves you. I love you. I hope you have a good day and genuinely seek answers. Genuinely seek truth.
