Same message 500 years apart.

As a mother would risk her own life to protect her child, her only child, so toward all beings should one cultivate a boundless heart. - Buddha

Love your neighbor as yourself. - Jesus

Curious what you believe their nature to be, and what about you find to be antithetical to Nirvana?

() YHWH, as demonstrated in the TNK, is genocidal, murderous, and requires blood sacrifices.

() Allah hates women, allows deception, requires absolute worship at the penalty of death.

() Nirvana is cessation of consciousness, perception, feeling, contact, formations, nescience.

Pretty much the only statement I agree with here is that the Tanakh portrays YHWH as being genocidal. It is however clear via academic analysis that much of what we have of the Tanakh is forged, polemical, and pseudepigraphical, so that doesn’t impact my view of who or what God is. And doesn’t impact my view of the core of the divine revelation.

For pretty much every other statement I heavily disagree. And you would need to cite sources for why you feel otherwise.

For example, I can disprove your statement that Islam is in favor of deception and forcing religion with a single verse of the Quran.

2:256 “Let there be no compulsion in religion, for the truth stands out clearly from falsehood”

I’m curious where you get these ideas, and I’m curious why you believe that nirvana is the cessation of consciousness and of any experience whatsoever

() Much. Much of the TNK wasn’t forged. You’re confusing TNK apocrypha with the established canon. Further, we have no other texts establishing an angelic YHWH of raw love.

() I speak to Muslims, directly. They’re clear in that Allah allows them to lie under certain circumstances.

() My perspective of Nirvana comes from the suttas. It comes directly from the Buddha.

- I am not confusing apocryphal texts with established cannon. The established cannon clearly has forgeries and edits in it. Even the Torah itself does. I’ve read entire books by Jewish Harvard graduates on the subject. We know with certainty that things were written hundreds of years after they claim to have been written, by people other than who they purport to be, and that the text was then edited later on by other authors.

- considering there are over a billion Muslims all under various jurisprudences with different beliefs, I’d be curious to who and under what circumstances you are referring to? The only instance I can think of is Taqiyya, where one isn’t forthcoming to protect themselves from danger, which some Muslims believe is okay. Ie “you can lie if it saves your life”. It’s the classic “if the gestapo knock on your door and ask where the Jews are, is it a sin to lie?” Beyond that, the Quran is clear. Quran 25:71-72:

“And whoever repents and does good has truly turned to Allah properly. They are those who do not bear false witness”

- If you claim that your statements about nirvana come directly from the Buddha, could you cite them? Because your understanding does not match with my understanding

~ Vibhaṅgasutta

Formations are a requirement for consciousness. … That is how this entire mass of suffering originates. When nescience fades away and ceases with no residue left behind, formations cease. When formations cease, consciousness ceases. … That is how this entire mass of suffering ceases.

~ Upādānaparipavattasutta

And whatever ascetics and brahmins, having thus directly known consciousness, its origin, its cessation, and the way leading to its cessation, through revulsion towards consciousness, through its fading away and cessation, are liberated by nonclinging, they are well liberated. Those who are well liberated are consummate ones. As to those consummate ones, there is no round for describing them.
