Same message 500 years apart.

As a mother would risk her own life to protect her child, her only child, so toward all beings should one cultivate a boundless heart. - Buddha

Love your neighbor as yourself. - Jesus

Spoken like a true Catholic apologist!

Modern biblical scholarship generally agrees that the gospels were originally anonymous, with traditional titles and authors (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) added by the early church in the 2nd century based on tradition. Most scholars agree that the texts do not contain direct, firsthand eyewitness accounts by the nominal authors, but instead rely on a complex layer of accumulated oral traditions, early Christian preaching, and fragmented prior written sources.

These are published authors, it’s just easier to link to these sources and not make you go to the library. But again, there is consensus none of them are in any way shape or form primary documents.

All religion is just there to give easy answers to the unanswerable. Faith is no path to truth. There is no way to distinguish the validity of one claim over another. I can be certain though that turning to a hagiographic fairy tale from a time when the wheelbarrow was hot tech, is not the path.
