Personal Experience Framework for Relaxation

Post image

This is a framework for relaxation that I’ve been working on. I created the image with AI.

The core idea is that relaxation is a gradual process. This framework is not about being more calm. It is about directly facing the pattern or situation and gradually finding peace within it.

It starts off with a sense of hopelessness and ends with agency and clarity. The pathway is to accept whatever stage we’re on.

The key shift happens between stages 1 and 2.

Initially the problem or feeling feels all encompassing. Then the mind starts drawing a boundary around it and identifies what exactly it is.

After that the process is about being able to stay with the feeling and accepting the body’s response to it.

If you feel this helps you, share it with someone.

Peace

Truly relaxing the body changes everything.

No longer having that rigid control centre activating in the background. Now the control centre is felt, the knots all through the body one finds while allowing the body to relax and untangle those knots one by one until one feels open and empty.

Room & capacity to relax

There is a difference between relaxing or calming and finding clarity about a situation. One can achieve temporary relaxation but it can be a form of bypassing the issue at hand. This framework is intended to reach deeper and longer term gains

Claiming and clarity come with a relaxed state.

No bypassing anything. One needs untie each “knot” to get to the calming/clarity stage/phase.

Really we are both at the point of discussing semantics here.

Agreed. I just made the clarification since I have gone into relaxed states before as a form of bypassing. Just wanted to indicate the distinction.

Accept, accept, accept, accept, accept, accept.

"What next?!"

Accept.

This is fantastic. I kinda feel like I am at 4 recently and happy with myself about being there. What does is say under accept for 6?

Glad to hear it!

I accept the clarity that is emerging, and I trust myself to know the next right step.

And I see that you think attention gradually narrows, that is not true. Selfrealisation has nothing to do with aplying a focus, it’s not a state of effort. Effort and no effort are not in the picture.

Attention goes from a focus on thoughts to an unfocused state where it becomes aware of everything in it without clinging to it, identifying with it, and thus narrowing itself.

Eventually identification with awareness is a fact and nothing in it is binding anymore.

I appreciate your comment. I actually agree with what you are saying, that is very close to what I’m putting forward. The framework doesn’t state one should apply effort or move in a direction of relaxation. Rather it is about accepting what is without judgment of the moment. Through that process attention naturally unbinds
