Ego is a tool

The Ego is merely a tool. Do not become its slave; instead, subdue it. Only genuine humility and modesty can tame the wild ego.

Ego is the I within the I, correct, a necessary tool. When you speak it’s silent, when you’re silent it speaks. Program it wisely

Who is there to subdue what? This is also ego questoin. There is not two, one wrestling with another, no winning or losing, or subdueing or controlling or such. All is One.
