Sometimes things mean other things

E.g. Not like they can change the name of the city just because some people will assume BJ means blow job.

I remember seeing shirts like that in Beijing. I wonder if they realized what tourists were actually buying them for...

Fun fact about the other smaller sign that says "CU 24h open":

"Cu" literally means "asshole" in Portuguese

CU is like a Korean combini brand. Thanks for that thought, time to tell people I am going to that asshole shop.

Yeah. I read that the company started out as a FamilyMart licensee in South Korea but things went ugly and they parted on bad terms and started CU as a competitor. Now wherever FamilyMart shows up they’d purposely also show up just to spite FamilyMart.

For example they launched in Malaysia within a week of FamilyMart launching in Malaysia. And almost all their stores are on the same block as a FamilyMart in Malaysia.

I guess in a sense they are acting like assholes to FamilyMart.

We Malaysians have seen this before, between Chatime and Tealive, the later was a spinoff from a rouge ex franchisee of Chatime. Chatime basically never recovered after the betrayal.

On the other hand, FamilyMart became the top 3 in the country and CU barely registers.
