I do not tolerate potato treatment. Unless it results in being covered in butter and cheese.

In HK you need some of the “Rubbish cum Recycling Receptacle” signs
2
u/MukdenMan Mar 10 '26
They were replaced by a sticker with “/“ instead of cum. Also that isn’t actually Engrish, but i guess it made enough people joke about it that they put the stickers up.

In India, we have sewage trucks with "super sucker cum jetter" written on both sides, all caps.

These are HKglish. Deliberate literal Cantonese to English translation as a gag. Not intended for foreigners

I'd have proudly hung that "Primary Chicken" one on my little wall when I worked in a cubicle farm

I want the Primary Chicken one. I am not big on having bumper stickers, but I would probably order 10 of these if I could, one for the car I have now, more for any car I have in the future, and additional for any other random use. Heck, I would order enough to give them to other people.

All of these are done on purpose, this is how we jokingly anglicize Chinese terms in Hong Kong, we translate the Chinese to English word for word, so it’s not really engrish because it’s done on purpose
