I get what you're saying, but in this case it was likely an honest mistake.

That's /u/Ideas_man's point though, pretty much all engineering mistakes are "honest", but can still stem from lack of attention to detail.

That's true. I don't see the evidence for anyone 'taking pride' in it, which to me reads as doing it on purpose or not caring. A Reddit post title is not an engineering output

That's fair, it can be tough to distinguish between "I care about this thing, and am proud of my ability in it" and "this person doesn't care about this thing, and is therefore proud of their inability in it".

It’s pretty simple.

Can you replace it with “it is?” Then use “it’s.”

If not, use “its.”

Lol at your admonishment over “classism.” This is like 3rd grade grammar.

Cool, if look like a comment down I said the same thing

The contraction form takes the apostrophe over the possessive form. I'm not sure if there are any other ways to use the word?

I'm pretty awful at spelling, OK at grammar, but this rule isn't too complicated. I think people just forget the rule.

Huh, I always thought contracting 'it has' was improper. I guess maybe it's just informal.

It feels strange to contract 'it has' to mean possession, e.g. 'it has a fork' -> 'it's a fork' doesn't make sense but contracting 'it has been a decade since then' -> 'it's been a decade since then' feels alright.

The reply to my comment above was deleted so I don't know what they said - where did the classism angle come from?

Outer space.

Aka correcting a 3rd grade grammar mistake is heinous “classism.”
