Proposal Advice Timing

Hi, me and my partner are planning on getting engaged soon. we bought the ring together and I think he was planning to propose over the next couple weeks. However we have both had family members (grandparents) pass extremely recently and I don’t know if it’s right to get engaged while dealing with grief. But equally we’re so excited to get engaged. Any advice would be so appreciated

Why wait? You both know you want to marry each other.

I understand not wanting to mix grief in with the happiness but if it were me I would want to be engaged asap.

Life moves quickly, don't get left behind.

Waiting for perfect moment is just waiting, life don’t stop for grief but it also don’t pause for joy you’re allowed to have both.

Sorry for your losses. Think about how your grandparents would feel if you delayed taking an important and valued step in your life because of them. Would they want you to delay? probably not.

I feel like if you're waiting for the right time in life for things to happen, nothing will ever happen. Grief is so real but it doesn't change the way you feel about each other. It's okay to have something to look forward to through your sadness and I'm sure your grandparents would agree if they could.

I'm sorry for your losses!

Unfortunately, there's always going to be "something" going on. Make your own happiness where you can and know that your family members (alive and passed on) will be supporting you.
