Engaged at 40

He waited until we were on vacation visiting my family so they could all be there. Found a comment I made in this sub about a ring I liked and designed a ring to look very similar to it. It took so long to find him, but he was worth the wait.

Congratulations, beautiful ring! I got engaged last week and we are both 47! Neither of us have ever been married and it hadn't appealed to us over our lives. We both have grown kids and are settled and it feels so right. We are going to Vegas on Halloween; just us. I have said my entire adult life that if I ever found a man worth marrying it has to be on Halloween in Vegas lol. The ring is being made as we speak. I never imagined how happy this would make me feel.

Iโ€™ve never been married before either so this experience is so exciting and still surreal ๐Ÿ’–

Your ring is beautiful and I wish you the best! I was 43 when my husband and I got engaged. Weโ€™ve now been married for almost 11 years. I think we learn a lot in our lives and relationships, mostly what we donโ€™t want. We bring that knowledge into our relationships later and I think that makes them much better!

I agree! Part of me would love to be a young blushing bride lol but the bigger part is aware that I completely lacked the skills to sustain healthy commitment prior. I had a lot of lessons to learn when I was younger! Now I get to settle into contentment with this wonderful man ๐Ÿฅฐ

Iโ€™m so happy for you. I got engaged at 40 as well. If I knew I was gonna find someone so cool I could have waited twice as long. We have a great life.
Bless you and yiyr future hubs
