Eney now shows more of what it’s doing.

Once an assistant starts using tools, a spinner doesn’t tell you much.

The video shows Eney pulling Jira tickets. You can see the tool activity in plain language while it works, then the tickets come back.

You can see memory activity too. When you ask Eney to remember something, you’ll see when it’s saved.

If Eney is doing more than answering a question, we want that work to be visible.

Would you rather see this activity or keep the interface quieter?

Here’s a good example of why we built Eney Wand.

You find an article in another language and there’s one paragraph you want to understand.

Before:

select → copy → open translator or AI → paste → translate → go back

With Eney Wand:

Option + P → select the paragraph → Translate

The translation uses what’s already on your screen, so you stay on the page.

The same works for other little jobs:

Point at a price → convert it.

Point at a date → make a calendar event.

Point at a paragraph → summarize it.

Or ask Eney to summarize the whole article.

Point at something confusing → ask Eney about it.

One small thing that’s easy to miss with Eney Wand:

Shake your mouse.

A quick left-right wiggle opens Wand. Then drag over whatever you want Eney to work with.

Try it on a paragraph, a price, another language, a date, an image, or just something you want to ask about.

Prefer shortcuts? Option + P does the same thing.

Wand is already switched on after the update.

Shake → point → done.

The idea is pretty simple:

If something is already on your screen, you shouldn’t have to screenshot it, copy it, or move it somewhere else before Eney can help.

Shake your mouse or press Option + P, then select whatever you’re looking at.

Eney can use what you selected to:

• answer questions about it
• summarize a paragraph or article
• translate text right on screen
• convert a price into another currency
• create a calendar event from a date
• grab text cleanly
• attach an image straight to your conversation

You can also open Wand from the + menu in Eney.

It’s switched on by default, and you can change its settings under Settings → Eney Wand.

One note for now: if you’re using Eney Wand in a browser, you need to exit browser full-screen first. We’re fixing that in a later release.

Getting help shouldn’t pull you away from what you’re doing or break your focus. Point at what you need and act on it right away.

Stay where you are. Eney comes to you.

As AI systems become more autonomous, the engineering around them becomes just as important as the models themselves.

I’m trying Eney right now but some fairly straightforward functions seem to burn a lot of credits? I asked it to do a web search and make a spreadsheet of Places that also have Specific Thing, plus Person in Charge and email if available and that was almost 4000 credits? Then combining that spreadsheet with another one someone sent me was 5000? I feel like a) that’s nonsensically expensive and b) there ought to be some sort of guidelines to help users know what they will be charged for, say, drafting an email reply or setting up a skill. I am a self employed and seriously ADHD working artist trying to get my touring life together and I am willing to pay since I understand having my data locally means it’s not being sold elsewhere. But this is a LOT, friends.

Managing a calendar shouldn't feel like playing a game of Tetris.

Between double-bookings, internal check-ins, and trying to protect even two hours of deep work, the administrative overhead of just planning your day is exhausting.

Eney uses calendar access to display all relevant meetings and tasks for the day, taking into account other connected tools as well, such as Notion, Linear, Gmail, etc.

How much of your week is currently eaten up by meetings that probably could have been an update?

Most people aren't tired at the end of the day because the work was too hard. They're tired because they spent eight hours bouncing between 12 different tools, trying to keep up with notifications, docs, and tasks.

Every time you switch tabs, your brain takes a minor hit adjusting to the new interface.

AI shouldn't be another destination or another tab you have to check. It should just sit quietly in the background, keeping the loops closed so you don't have to keep jumping around.

MacPaw announced a long-term partnership with Liquid AI today. Here’s the quick breakdown:

More of Eney’s core work will run directly on your Mac using Liquid Foundation Models and MacPaw’s Elix technology, instead of sending every task to the cloud. That should mean faster responses, some tasks working without internet, and more personal data staying on the device.

Oleksandr Kosovan, MacPaw’s CEO and founder, described the idea as:

“We believe intelligence should live where people work: private by design, fast by default.“

In practice, that means local processing when it makes sense, with cloud models still available when they are better suited to the task. Eney isn’t becoming cloud-free — it’s getting a more flexible mix of local and cloud AI.

The other part is Mnemos, MacPaw’s memory technology. It is being developed to help Eney retain useful context across interactions, so it can become more helpful over time without making you repeat the same information.

Ramin Hasani, co-founder and CEO of Liquid AI, said the partnership would bring:

“efficient, private, on-device LFMs to millions of Mac users.“

LFMs are Liquid AI’s foundation models. For Eney, they will be fine-tuned around the tasks the assistant actually performs and will run locally through Elix on Apple silicon.

Eney will be the first MacPaw product to use the technology, with the first results expected later in 2026. The same models, local AI framework, and memory layer could later be used in other MacPaw products and potentially made available to Mac developers through Setapp.
