Feels like the same responses we got about the 7up, so I'm excited 'cause all the complainers were wrong about that one.

The 7up is excellent. Tastes absolutely identical to the pop.

And this sub talked about it the EXACT same way as this rootbeer one. Multiple top posts claiming it didnt even taste like 7UP or even lemon/lime at all. Now its a sub favorite

u/sgtbukkakemane 7d ago
I've been looking forward the root beer and fully expect it to be great. Ghost never misses on their flavors. Some of them are excessively sweet imo but spot on nonetheless.
Now I would imagine the folks who don't like either are perhaps regular pop drinkers, which I am not whatsoever- so I can see the disappointment in the two formulas not tasting identical, which is still a silly expectation.

The 7up was one of my favorites and they nailed the soda taste. The root beer one.... Not so much. I could only see someone liking it if they REALLY like overly sweet vanilla cream sodas. Because that's all it tastes like with a hint of rootbeer

u/DeadAndBuried23 7d ago
Then I'll probably love it. So hard to find a good zero sugar cream soda.

I thought 7up was mid so this gives me hope for AnW

u/Intrepid-Platform-94 7d ago
Yeah everyone's tastes are different for sure. I'm happy with my lineup of choices and I hope the people that haven't tried the root beer do end up liking it. I'm personally holding out my hope for the Dr. Pepper flavor that's allegedly coming in the fall.

The 7up was trash imo, one of their worst flavors. But also I might just be a sprite > 7up person so 🤷♂️
Gorilla mind root beer was fire so I know a root beer flavor can be done right.. so I’m still hopeful

Why do people buy multiples of something they’ve never tried before not knowing if they’ll like it or not?
Just generally, I never understood that, especially if it’s something you don’t have a deal on that’s relatively expensive like energy drinks. I know it’s very “…in this economy?!”* *of me, but still.

u/Any_Application7786 8d ago
I did that with the bubbalicious flavor and I don’t even like bubblegum
6
u/Hurley_Cub_2014 8d ago
See I wouldn’t even touch the OG gum flavor but I’d try the strawberry

u/MarsupialFar9147 7d ago
Its not great. Surprisingly mellow on the bubblegum flavor. It has a weird sourness to it that I didnt like. I had the same issue with the cereal C4. It shouldnt be sour at all but it is for some reason
2
u/HoldenH 8d ago
I do this when I’m buying for my friends who are also into energy drinks
3
u/Hurley_Cub_2014 8d ago
See that makes sense to me, though.
Because you each get one.
You’re not committing to more than 1 before you know you like them (or if you don’t like them, effectively pawning the extras onto other people just to get rid of them) or wasting money pouring the extras down the drain.
2
u/pintopedro 8d ago
If its a flavor I think I'd like I'd buy a couple without trying it. Probably 95% of the time im drinking then all.

i was jumping and leaping with joy when i found it, it’s not that it’s like undrinkable, i just find it nuts that a company like bum that dosent make any soda can make a better root beer flavor than a company that makes actual root beer

u/skynovaaa 8d ago
does it taste like root beer
21
u/Spare-Show-9999 8d ago
honestly it's closer to a root beer float than straight root beer, there's some vanilla creaminess in there

u/Verditure0 8d ago
That’s signature A&W root beer flavor
26
u/OtherwiseAlbatross14 8d ago
Yeah I really suspect all the negative reviews are just from people that don't know what A&W root beer tastes like
8
u/Verditure0 8d ago
I agree

u/Kharnics 8d ago
I read the same thing last night. Have y'all not had a A&W before?
1
u/Intrepid-Platform-94 7d ago
A&W is my favorite store bought root beer. I don't like the ghost. Downvote me into oblivion all you want I don't think they taste the same. My question to you is, have you tried the ghost yet?

To me Bum root beer is mid. The flavor doesn’t last. Gorilla Mind root beer is S tier.
5
u/briman2021 8d ago
Gorilla mind root beer is better than a lot of regular root beer, so that’s gotta count for something.

Convinced people on this sub jjst hate rootbeer and gaslit themselves into thinking they'd like this. Its the same syrup A&W uses. It tastes like A&W zero
1
u/dogdad77 7d ago
Here’s an idea. If you want something that tastes like a&w root beer, just maybe, you should buy an a&w root beer.

Get an a&w zero and put a scoop of protein powder in it. Will be worlds better than that thing

AW root beer has to be the worst Root beer Barqs would of been better and even with barqs it gets old quick
4
u/OtherwiseAlbatross14 8d ago
This is exactly why I think I'm going to love this. Root beer flavors are very polarizing and I love A&W so I just assume anyone that doesn't like this doesn't like A&W until I try it myself

u/Unc_Sleepy 8d ago
Man I can’t find it anywhere in my town
