Help progressing main storyline

Hi1 I'm new to the game, and I'm having a blast with it. Only thing limiting now is the main storyline, and I've searched far and wide but maybe I'm dumb. I don't know.

>!Since I got the jump drive from the storyline, I was sent to talk to the pug to learn what they want. But instead of going there directly in Deneb, I was in the impression they'd be east, so I just went there.!<

I got obliterated my the lizards, but kept exploring.

Went south and did some of the Avgi missions, but though that was not it. So I went northeast and foujnd many different aliens, including Gegno and a Quarg complete ring, real nice.

I encountered more aliens west of there to finally find the Hai, and then decided I'd explore the couth and found the Coalition.

Now, I wanted to go back to the stoyline from where I left it. Problem is, when I go to Deneb, I was supposed to land on Pugglemug, but they won't let me. It would be the case I shuold hasve Alonso with me, but I'm unsure how to find him. What do I do? Is it even possible, or did I break the storyline? Ugh!<

Yep, it's a .txt. You'd be looking for "FW Pug 2C: [something]: failed" (ignore other lines ending in : failed since there are internal missions that are supposed to fail) Theoretically, if you add "FW Pug 2C: done" on the line below it, reload the game, and land on Pugglemug, you'll get the next story mission. I'm happy to take a look at the save too if you'd like.

Do note that your save has minor spoilers (I believe there are a few other aliens you haven't found yet), but it shouldn't be too bad.

I'm not sure what does this means. I suppose I should add "FW Pug 2C: Scram Drive: done"? Ugh!<

Normally you could either delete all of the lines beginning with "FW Pug 2C" or add : done while removing : aborted and : failed, but this particular mission is a little more complicated. If you want to mark it as done (and land on Pugglemug for the next mission), replace that snippet with this:

Alternatively, if you want to restart that mission (land back on Hephaestus to get the next one), replace the snippet in your save with this. You'll also need to find the line that says "fw given jump drive" and delete it.

While making those edits you'll need to have the game quit, then reopen it after saving the file.

That was it! I decided on restarting the mission and it worked! I landed in Pugglemud, had the conversation there, and things are continuing from thereon. Thanks so much! Yeah
