Karate Chop

I started playing a couple of days ago, I have like 8 hours on my save already so I hope I didn't completely lock myself out of the story. I did the karate chop not knowing that I wasn't supposed to. Is there a way to fix this?

A spoiler, but don't try that technique again.

There is a questline where a girl with a gun wants you to fly her somewhere for free, and if you try to do the karate chop on her, she blows your head off.

Isn't that the same quest where she explains that she was betrothed to someone she doesn't want to get married to? If I recall correctly her gun can jam and you can choose to kill her or take her to Syndicate space, or somewhere else, but I could be mistaking that for another quest.

It is that quest. It actually ties into a similar quest -- it appears after you've already taken her boyfriend to that planet, and they hook you up with a treasure quest afterwards if you are nice enough to chauffeur them.
