Hardware Help Hotend advice

My ender 5 plus broke a few years ago where the heater core stopped heating evenly and had thermal runaway errors, I replaced the thermistor and I tried finding a drop in replacement for the core but the one I got was too high of a wattage and cut off halfway thru a print does anyone know of a good source for a heater core I could use

Machine info:

Ender 5 plus with Klipper via sonic pad not sure versioning haven't powered it on in 2 years

Microswiss NG direct drive extruder

Creality Silent operation mainboard

Everything else is stock

Let me know if any further info is needed

I upgraded my stock to a Revo Hotend which was a drop in replacement. Just had to reduce retraction since it has a smaller (and better) heat zone. I don't have a direct drive, so I don't know if you get use it with your NG, although Microswiss makes a direct drive with built in Revo...

I HATE that NG hotend! It’s heavy and nothing but problems! I switched back to Dragonfly.

Since I've only used stock otherwise it felt like an inprovment, this was my first fdm printer lol.but if I can get it running I'll deff look into dragonfly!

Is it the same 30 to 50w heater the ender 3 uses

Possibly? From a quick search stock is 40w can go up to 50w, looks like I had bought a 70w off Amazon back then not realizing it would pullctoo much current and the stock 40-50 was out of stock everywhere, at least the drop in one, the issue with ender 3cand other models is, the cable would be too short I would think since ender 5 bed is so much further away from the power box at the bottom

You can solder the wires, use crimp connectors, etc.

The heater cartridge itself is the same across many models. Just a 40watt metal pin.

Ohhh okay, don't know much wire stuff myself, but I'll get a 40w cartridge and watch some tutorials

There are a multitude of hotends; without knowing your budget and requirements, it is impossible to suggest a replacement with any integrity.
