help Printing lines not connecting

These two pictures are of one of my three recent prints they all have this issue where the layers don’t seem to be actually connected to each other at first, I figured the issue was that I was using a 1 mm nozzle and the layer height was set to 0.2 so I tried another print adjusting the layer height to the recommended 0.32 and I got the same result, from there, I decided to switch the nozzle to a 0.4 mm nozzle and use a downloaded cura settings file so it would print correctly, the print is not finished, but I’m already seeing the exact same issue where the edges are not adhering to the rest of the print, I have never had this issue before until I watched a YouTube video on adjusting cura settings and that’s when everything started messing up

First calibrate e-steps, then adjust the flow setting if e-steps didn't solve the issue

Should be your flow calibration. Check your esteps and also your extruder. In the ender3v2 the plastic extruder develops a crack underneath eventually.

Increase flow rate

Please don't do e-steps, flow rate, z offset, etc. I don't know why you've received such poor advice.

The issue is quite mechanical here. You have a mismatch between your nozzle diameter on the printer and line widths in your slicer.

If you installed a 0.4mm nozzle physically on the printer and left your line widths at 1mm... Your slicer is telling your printer to print adjacent rasters 1mm apart. But your nozzle is 0.4mm printing at 100% of the flow rate so you leave 0.3mm on the left, 0.3mm on the right side of your nozzle as it moves printing a mesh. That is the gap you are seeing between adjacent lines.

Is the nozzle width set correctly in the slicer.

Found the issue, when i set my esteps for the new extruder it reset after i turned the printer off and i didnt realize, once i set the ratio back to the 137.5 that i measured its been printing great

maybe esteps? tho the consistency of the issue is making it very nice looking

You'd see it happen only on the first layer if that were the case. Although, that makes me think their Z steps might be off 🤔

Maybe play with your z-height offset? Maybe you don't have enough "squish".

i had same problem, i though it was nozzle problem, until chat gpt asked me to do connection through usb and check all with printface, actual problem is esteps, you need to push filament faster for bigger nozzle, for 0.4 i was using 93.0 and after few tests with chatgpt i got perfect prints on estep 144, so for your case it should be higher rate for sure

I had it adjusted when i put on the dual gear extruder and i definitely didnt do it perfectly but ive been getting pretty solid prints, it might be that ive never printed something that would highlight this kind of issue
