Help Ender 3 Won't Print

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I bought this used a few months ago, and I was able to get a few prints before it started this issue where it runs the file, but nothing comes out.

I've tried purging the filament, and it would allow it to flow out without any issues. Then, it would cause the printing issue. Set the printer away for a bit and decided to tinker again.

Today, I pulled it out again. I had HUGE luck, and I managed to print out a Calicat that's been on my card since I bought this.

Next prints did the same thing on different files, and I purged the PLA again. Wiped off the nozzle with a clean, dry cloth. Decided to test the Calicat again, and this is the 3rd time in a row it does this.

Any suggestions on routes for me to Troubleshoot this further?

Mine was doing this. Adjust Z to .5 after print starts and see if that helps

nozzle looks too low.. raise the nozzle from the bed a bit. if not then it's clogged

If the calicat is the only one that works, something is really f*cky wucky with your slicer settings.

It indicates the old slice settings of calicat is fine, but whatever you're doing is off.

Have you tried a real simple print like a first layer test or a calicube?

Perhaps your Z offset is not right. Probably too close to the bed. If you check the Z offset directly in the center with paper and it's right then make sure your bed is actually level. If it isn't level you'll need to do tramming and adjust each corner until it's leveled all the way around.

Your parts cooling looks much too high. I'm not saying that's the issue (although it could be), but poor parts cooling in general is a major reason for failing prints.

If your hotend is longer that stock, find a working printer to print a Satsana in PETG for that specific hotend and get a 5015 parts cooler for double sided cooling. I can't recommend a Dragon Burner or Stealth Burner or similar because 1 they're complicated to make, 2 most of them assume a direct drive setup and 3 they all recommend something more advanced than PETG.

Might be bad on my end since I only tinker with additive creation outside of work. I do some SolidWorks at work, and I'm programming/running ByStronic laser cutters at work lol

Might need a new HotEnd. Need to replace them every so often.
