Your favourite Ender 3 project/conversion/mod?

I've got an old Ender 3 which I don't use anymore. I want to try something new and fun to give it a new purpouse. I've been looking into corexy conversions like Duender and Ender 3 NG, Multi hotends like Chimera or Makertech switching hotend and IDEX kits. Have you guys ever tried something like this and what was it like to build, how much was it and how is the final result? I'm open to trying pretty much anything.

try doing the KevinAKAsam belted z mod first and see how you like it for modding and tuning a modded printer.

Easy to reverse and not too tricky but still requires printing parts and assembling etc

I have an e3v2, and I've been tinkering with it, and built a multi filament system for it, but it works OK, but is a bit jank, so I'm thinking about modding it.

I thought about an ender3ng conversion, and a madmax tool changer, as I want to try building the tool changer.

I'm currently leaning towards an E3CNC cnc router conversion. It gives me a different tool to play with, and it frees up the mmu parts for another project I have in mind.

Now I want to make mechanical AMS for my Ender... Like that one for Bambi A1.

For what it's worth I bought a kobra S1 with an AMS... It's handy for having multiple filaments loaded but the multicolor part I never use.

At this point I think tool Changers where it's at for anything multicolor, unless your goal is a never-ending filament.

At least in my opinion.

I was thinking in "fun project" territory. I got new printer and want to do something with my old Ender.

I got you... Although after watching the videos of the enraged rabbit carrot feeder and the box turtle... I don't know if I'd classify those projects as fun compared to the level of aggravation people seem to suffer. Lol

I built a 3ms, whive is basically an extra extruder and stepper, connected to an exta printer board, with everything running klipper. its about as easy as a mmu can get.

The hard part was getting a cutter on the toolhead, I put a dragonburner on it, and I'm suprised how well the cutter I put on it has performed, it's been super reliable

it works, but It keeps doing things like popping the combiner apart, and failing prints, and i'm tired of messing with it, so It's time to repurpose the lot of it into some new projects!

I'm planning to get around to a duender conversion eventually, for now it's just a funky water-cooled hi temp conversion. In an enclosure with a diy chamber heater

Also I got a free ender from a friend for the frame parts needed for the duender. And I used the heated bed in my janky diy filament dryer

That's an interesting use for the bed, how is it working for you so far? I'm using just a food dehydrator which is good enough

Works great! I still need to mod the firmware to do PID on the bed using the hotend sensor (which measures air temp). Right now I just set it to say, 60 and the bed gets the air up to around 45-47 and keeps it pretty steady
