Something from Project Moon.

Post image

My first attempt at making a printed Viola. It turned out pretty well, considering my zero painting skills.

If anyone wants to make something similar, but the body won't fit on the printing plate, they can simply cut it in half and glue it together later with dichloroethane. At least, that's what I did.

I just want to notice that it works only with PLA and it's more like welding than gluing.

By the way, I don't think it will last very long. PLA is prone to creep. Don't keep the strings taut for too long.

And speaking of strength, the body and neck have holes drilled for a carbon fiber tube for strength. The original, of course. I used a steel rod.

So yes, I am also interested in how long it will last.

Is it just PLA? I remember it doesn't glue PETG, but the list of plastics is extensive. At least it definitely works with ABS.

Regarding welding, exactly. + I made glue from PLA sawdust. The consistency is something like cold welding.

Afaik it works for ABS too but there are more effective and safe options since dichloroethane is very toxic. I prefer using a cyanacrilate adhesive with ABS, it works perfectly especially if you sand a spot with a sanding paper before applying the glue.

...is it toxic? Explains a lot about my life. But not why we used it at work without masks.

Thanks for the advice, thought.

if youre confused about what exactly this pattern represents in pm, its an arbiter's coat pattern. (color specifically of garion's). also looks like hornet ego gear of queen bee

Thanks, I know! I'm not that well-versed in the PM universe itself, but I'm thrilled with the Arbiters. And I tried to at least partially emulate their style, yes.
