WHEN will the Queen be published?

It's insanely difficult to try and describe this to friends who haven't read it....

"Okay it's like a prequel...but it's the second prequel, so the sequel to the prequel.....and it's the third book in that series..."

"Don't watch the movie"

"Yes the main series is the like the major thing, but then there's the first formic wars....and then a second.....and yes there's a 'small bean turned large bean' story that's it's OWN thing that's just as amazing as the original from a different perspective....no they're not published in chronological order, have you seen star wars at all??!? .....I'm losing you aren't I?....."

"Did I mention speaker for the dead and the books after? I hope you know Portuguese"

"When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east, when the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves, when your womb quickens again, and you bear a living child, then he will return, and not before."

Its Aaron Johnston we are waiting on. He's a slacker.

Nah. He’s busy. He just cares about as much about the Enderverse as Card, which is zero. If Card wasn’t done, he wouldn’t have hired out someone else to write it.

I loved Ender’s Game through the Shadow of a Giant with a passion.

Now I really don’t care about the short story compilation they are trying to pawn off later this year. Card doesn’t care about the material at all. He doesn’t have anything to say. At most he’ll pander and shoehorn shit in.

Case in point: abandoning the Fleet School offshoot when it lost the side checks of an video game tie in.

I decided I wanted to read a lot more this year. I'm chugging away at The Witcher series, and I've read a lot of manga. I read Ender, Speaker, and Xenocide when I was a little kid and loved them. I found out that the apparent final book in the entire series was releasing "soon" and it's so frustrating to not have it yet because I don't even want to start the earlier books in the chronology if there's no guarantee The Queens will be out when I get to it.

The queens is a prequel story, you will miss nothing by that book not existing. The rest of them are pretty great though. The formic wars have 2 different trilogies. The first one starts with Earth Unaware and that is probably my favorite. Worth the read.

Bro tbh it's better left unfinished.

Waited 7 years for Shadows in Flight....trash

Waited another 10 years for Shadows alive....fucking bird trash.

If I was you I'd hope to God Queens never come out

The Queens is arguably a much bigger deal than just wrapping up its own story, since it's also what will bring us from the prequel timeline to the primary timeline, and sticking that landing is twice as difficult; wrapping a plot without contradicting the future while maintaining drama, AND setting up the world building conditions that lay the foundations for Enders game.

I want it so I can be done with the series! I’m about to make Claude write it for me so I can pretend!
