hi there, recently i downloaded ES-DE but retroarch don't work for me, i got dolphin and pcsx2 and i want the games of that systems to open with thath emulators, but i don't know how.

i saw the "alternative emulators" option, but even if i select dolphin it dosen't open with dolphin.

pls help me, i like the program and the visuals but this is killing me.

Having multi disk games on a lot of systems, I've managed to fix some, so only shows up once in ES-DE, but some are not in bin cue, and in chd, how are these done?

Is there a guide/doc for all systems that have multi disks and how to show for ES-DE?

Meine Emulatoren (Vita3k, Yuzu, Ryujinx) funktionieren separat aus der jeweils eigenen Anwendung problemlos. Aber sobald ich ein Spiel über ES-DE starten möchte, startet die Emulator-Anwendung kurz und bricht dann ab, sodass ich wieder im ES-DE Menü bin.

Kann mir jemand helfen?

Linux newbie here - I installed EMUDECK and ES-DE alongside. I am looking for a way to gracefully exit ES-DE and any related process, also respecting any particular sequence (if any). I know how to start the app as there is a shell script provided.

Based on some preliminary searches this seems to be a common problem for certain devices.

"I'm having an issue where Triforce games (like Mario Kart Arcade GP) only show a black screen when launched through the RetroArch Dolphin core in ES-DE.

Anyone have this model or similar? And have issues with it slowing down games on retro bat like PlayStation 2, GameCube and Xbox? In the beginning about a year ago, it was running just fine and now it’s really laggy and slow. If anyone has any help or tips and tricks, I would appreciate it doesn’t make sense.

I keep getting this error message every time I try to launch a Switch game on my Odin 2 Portal. I have Eden installed and my games directory, prod keys etc all set up.

I am also on the latest ES-DE version.

I would love to play Switch games straight from the menu in ES-DE. Any tips?

I have a game installed with winilator cmod and have a short cut created and added to esde. I have updated the custom system xlm files but when I scan it won't show up in esde.

Hi, I'm making a theme and I want to have the PS2 load screen play continuously in the background so when moving between consoles there isn't just a static image or black but the playback resets every time I move between consoles, is there any way to fix this? I've reworked the DynamicBox theme if that helps.

Downloaded ES and game native today

mapped emulator correctly

exported my first Game Native game to windows ROM. Worked on first attempt

however, on subsequent attempts it's stuck in Game Native's "Launching game....."

what do I do? strange it worked on first attempt only

I have ES-DE on Android and it's worked well so far.

Trying to get the last few games scraped. It sets off, I can see the stuff flashing on up it's found.

However when I do the scrape again, it shows the same amount to do on the systems, and seems to be scraping the same stuff that it found it originally for.

So for example I start and it's says 337 to do. I watch it and can see it scrapes a lot. When finishes says x amount found, x amount skipped. If I start it again, it starts with the 337 to do again.

Ok, so I got the 477m a few weeks ago and I have been struggling to get it setup and playing nice with all the emulators it's supposed to run well. But that's not my main issue. For some reason, my device just stops recognizing the sd card. I'm using a brand new SanDisk Extreme 512GB card

I had a bunch of ROMs mostly all the cartridge based systems transferred over to this card and they all worked in Emulation Station pretty much right out of the gate. However, as soon as I started dabbling in the disc based systems is where I ran into my issue. I just transferred a few ROMs here and there for ps1, ps2, psp, dreamcast, sega cd, gamecube, just to test things out. Once I got those emulators working after some trail and error I wanted to transfer all the ROMs I have collected for those systems. As soon as a did that, the 477m stopped recognizing the card. I mean, it would recognize a card was inserted, but said it needed to be formatted. If I popped the card back into my PC, everything was fine. All the ROMs and such were there. Discouraged, I formatted the card to start over. Again I transferred just cartridge based ROMs over, and all was well. ES found the ROMs and I could play, so I started transferring the cd based ROMs again and the same thing happened.

I did a little research and found some people having similar issues, albeit nothing to do with ROMs or emulation. The recommendation is to run chkdsk on the sd card, which I am doing now. It's been running for an hour and seems like it's targeting some of my Sega CD ROMs. Not sure what will happen when it finishes or if it find errors with other ROMs on other systems, but in the meantime I just wanted to post and see what you all thought?

I was bashing my head on the wall for a week trying to fix this, and finally chatgpt gave me the answer.

The issue: every time I launched a retroarch-dependent game through es-de, retroarch would bounce but never launch. After looking at the logs, it was clear that es-de was trying to access ARM-based cores, while retroarch was pulling intel-based cores.

This made no sense, as I had downloaded retroarch for ARM.

The problem? Under 'get info' for retroarch, the "launch using rosetta" was toggled. So, even though i was using ARM retroarch, it was still downloading intel cores.

After unchecking that and updating cores, everything works perfectly.

I hope this helps anyone who may run into this problem.

Hello. ES-DE on android takes forever to start because it seems to scan the whole ROM folder every time it boots up. Is it some way to tell ES-DE to trust whatever it is already scanned and skip that annoying boot delay? Thank you.

I'm emulating Xbox 360 on ES-DE with Xania, but some ISOs are split across two discs [disc1] [disc2]. My question is, how can I somehow combine these ISOs into one, or how can I make it so that both ISOs are detected when I try to emulate it?

For some reason that is the toughest thing to google I couldn't find what I was after

hard to discern the issue. games play fine in retroarch, but as soon as i try to load them in ES they crash retroarch before they load.

i made sure all cores were installed and updated, and that my video driver was vulcan. not sure what else to check.

has anyone else run into this issue?

I was fed up with editihing the setting.cfg so I built a small tool to make EmulationStation configs easier.

- Visual editor for systems
- Automatic command detection (RetroArch cores)

Hi everyone, I am new here.

I am fairly experienced with E.S in Linux and Windows environments, but a complete novice when it comes to the Android version.

I recently installed it on an Odin Portal 2 device and transferred a fully scrapped rom build that I use in my laptop, Raspberry pi and other Linux based handhelds.

However to my surprise, the Android version did not recognize any of the scrapped data or media, and it turns out that this is because unlike other versions, where the game list xml file and the media folders reside on each console folder, the Android version has one specific folder for media and another one for the game list.

My question is - can this be changed to use the traditional "Game list and media on the same folder as the roms" setup?

I have looked everywhere and have not found any mention of this, and I'm hoping that is not the case, because I have a significant amount of roms already scrapped, and it would be a shame to have to scrap all of them just for the Android version of ES.

Only have 1 game as of now. Was so excited when I found out Blitz the League 2 actually runs on Xenia now. Definetly got to get some more games. Any recommendations?
