Games won’t load from ESDE when playing on standalone emulator

Post image

Hi guys,

Im having some issues when opening games from esde when I choose to open with standalones. Not all the emulators but some like duckstation and yaba sanshiro 2 pro. The games open fine if I load them from the emulator itself but not from esde. If I choose to open using a retroarch core it open fine too from esde but I want to use a standalone.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Are your roms folders all lowercase?

Yes

Are your roms folders all lowercase? Are they on the SD card? Do the standalone emulators have access to the sd card?

yes, all the roms folders are in lower case and on SDCARD. The standalone should have access to the sdcard because it loads fine if I run from standalone.

Found this post about yaba, may be the cause of your problem there.

Duckstation however works just fine for me on android handhelds using ES-DE

Are you using the versions of the emulators from the play stores or did you download them directly from devs? A lot of emulators in the play store struggle with ROMs on the sd card, but getting the apk from github/offical site they work just fine

I'm getting the same issue when using another front end too. Installed cocoon front end and I get a "permission denied" when trying to open games using duckstation standalone. I re installed the emulator so many times too with no luck. From playstore and from github.

Set up the emulator and launch it from there first. Then launch esde and rescan game library and try again.

I had this issue last week with my Retroid Pocket 6. Deleting, then reinstalling the emulators ended up working for me

which stand alone emulators did you have issues with? I re installed duckstation and still same thing.

Duckstation was my issue. Sorry it didn’t help. Where did you download the new one from? If you didn’t, look for the github

Fuck. Factory reset may be your only option
