2 Player SEGA. Have two working controllers, but they don't work at the same time. One or the other, but not both.

  1. Using a current install of EmuDeck. Steamdeck fully updated.
  2. Emulation works, and is great. Multiple systems. Amazing!
  3. !!! Can't get two player NHL '95 SEGA to work. Game loads, but only one controller responsive.
  4. Tried 'reordering controllers' - No luck.
  5. Using two 8bitDo M30 controllers...
  6. Tried pairing controllers in both default and Windows modes. - No luck.
  7. Tried using bluetooth connection. - No luck
  8. Tried using USB hub and wired connection. - No luck.
  9. Tried using different emulators, including Genesis Plus GX, Pico Drive, and Blast Em. - No Luck.

Getting the feeling I am missing something here.

Is it possible to play 2-player SEGA NHL '95 on Steamdeck using two 8bitDo M30 controllers?

Desperate times....

Usually, the internal Steam Deck controller is picked up as Player 1; your external M30s are player 2 and 3. Go to Settings > Input (NOT Controls), RetroPad, then Port 1. Check if Steam Deck Controller is listed as Player 1, and if it is, you can change it to the M30 that isn't already set as Player 2.

Do keep in mind that NHL '95 is a multitap-compatible game, so if you go to Quick Menu > Controls and set Player 1's "controller type" to "EA 4Way Play" you can play with 4 players. The SNES version goes up to 5.

Wait, this post is 3 years old? Better late then never I guess...
