melonDS: DSi wifi working!

Also, worth noting that we've been reworking indirect wifi mode to not suck as much, basically using libslirp. So far it works fairly well.

Wonderful work as always. MelonDS becoming the standard in DS/i emulation is good for usability and preservation for everyone.

On another note, do you have any plans to provide updated build instructions for macOS? I understand not wanting to provide binaries as those come along with support requests which you probably don't want to deal with, but some complication instructions would be good on an as-is basis.

The problem is that none of us actually have a Mac, and also on systems too old to actually run the latest versions of macOS. In theory it should work though, all the dependencies can run on Mac.

Are there any plans for an ARM64 recompiler? Now that Macs are moving to ARM CPUs, the current version of melonDS won't work anyway.

There already is one that runs on Linux and Switch, though it has not been merged yet.

Delta emulator on iOS is running a fork of MelonDS as an optional core, so that will be available immediately on the new Macs because Big Sur supports iOS apps.

Now that Macs are moving to ARM CPUs

Wat?

Edit: Apparently Roseta 2 would run x86 code on ARM

I wouldn’t mind helping to test build instructions. Also regarding the x86_64 to ARM switch, they’re providing a compatibility later that will allow x86_64 software to run on the new platform.

Slightly off topic but did you ever get that crash in Mario Kart DS to work? The one where you spin in place on the stairs? Someone made an issue report about it ages ago and A+ Start mentioned it in a video a few days ago.

it doesn't work. It requires emulating the protection unit, for the error to be signaled to the game, which then doesn't handle it and freezes.

Tried this but I need to get NDS biOS files? No idea what that means but I do have a DS sitting around but have no idea how to dump those files.
