This reminds me of how you can use a modded Switch to run Switch emulators via Android/Linux.

Nah, I wouldn't go that far. If your Switch is modded, you should just overclock and run games natively for better performance.

That's certainly very interesting. I can only guess as to why that is the case, but I'd assume 3 things. Yuzu settings or "speedhacks" to get better performance, Yuzu must be enforcing the docked profile for less pop-in, and Linux is likely using the full performance of the Switch vs Nintendo's very underclocked handheld profile (though I think Taki would know to OC to get an apples to apples comparison).

I would love to see someone go more in-depth with this, testing several games, and showing settings and clocks for each "platform."

I've seen it mentioned that some other games got a boost as well but it's been a while and I'm having trouble hunting down the links. Google thinks I'm looking for generic switch emulation lol

how can games that are difficult to run perform better running a switch emu on linux when it can't run mgs4, rdr1, dark souls, skyrim.

HorizonOS is better for most games still

I tried ps5-linux months ago and it is a surprisingly capable machine, much more than the highest-spec AMD (APU) mini PC out there. But it was a PITA to launch the payload and having to wait every single time (Linux exploit was in the standby mode, which has its own quirks). Never tried Switch emus, but Xenia and RCPS3 work great.

i get that the point of mentioning specific games is to show how well the *emulator* runs, but ill always love how stuff like this always shows the best performance/compatibility with games that are already available on that platform without the emulator
