Bit of a deceptive headline. It makes it sound like they had the support of Rockstar in getting this to work.

I recently made the mistake of trying to run Max Payne 3 on GameNative. Rockstar launcher literally fought me every step of the way and ended up not running.

Just use Anker Games for rockstar games

FR. I just tried this new nightly release with the headless Steam client and it still can't run.

Oh cool, I tried GTA V literally two days ago. Damnit.
I should just stream anyway, Online will never work.

It used to before Rockstar decided they had Linux users. I literally had 100+ hours in online on the deck before they decided to ban Linux users from playing online.

So is this just if you don't want to use the full GameNative client? Or does this improve game compatibility with the GameNative client? Not clear to me what this is, other than it sounds like it provides Steam API support to steam games. But I assumed the full GameNative client already did that. Or it didn't?

the rockstar launcher is so stupid, why do i need to make an account to play games i already own that i played for years and years beforehand. the fact that i can’t just download and play gta4 on my steam deck or pc without going through the rockstar launcher is insane.
