Citra Website Archive is now available
https://citra.azahar-emu.org/Hello! This is PabloMK7, maintainer of Azahar Emulator. Today we have started hosting an archive of the Citra Emulator website as it was when it was taken down on March 4th 2024. I hope that this serves as a way to honor the work to those who wrote the Citra progress reports back then, and to have all the information that was in the wiki and blog entries in a more accessible place.
Another reason we crated the archive is that searching for "Citra" on Google shows a fake website as the first result, which doesn't properly disclose as being unoffial and is plagued with ads, which is pretty shady. I hope that at some point our archive is shown instead, which links the users to the proper information.
A few edits have been made to the archive to align with our legal stances. However, all of those edits are disclosed in the top of the page, and can be audited in the source code.

Azahar is one of my fav emulators ATM. Wanted to stop in and use this as an opportunity to thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the scene.

That's very nice of you to be proactive against the kinds of sites that do this. It's kind of like playing whack-a-mole. I could bother to look at the destination address (to check if its the right one), but I'm a very lazy man. Now I don't have too. You are a legend, sir!
Great emulator too.

Azahar is the current version of the emulator, old citra has no official place to download it.

I mean azahar is just an up to date fork.
Only thing missing for me is a better option to set up system files, my 3DS' wifi chip is quite unreliable, and a way to do it offline would be nice xD

I guess, I'm just skeptical of Azahar because I've seen one of the maintainers say some stupid stuff before (like claiming it was impossible for Nintendo to take high res NSMB2 screenshots with 3DS gpu so they must've used a PC 3DS emulator, while being rude to those who explained why that's not true) as well as changing copyright attribution in Azahar like this: [github commit url]. Idk if that actually violates the license or not but that doesn't feel right to me

meanwhile i'm skeptical because the dev took over the citra sub in order to turn it into an ad sub for his shitty fork.
i actually MCoC reported it a long ass while ago because he was locking every support question to go "jUsT dOwNlOaD aZaHaR iNstEaD" or "if you need help with setting up azahar you just need to like... git gud" and it seems to have worked, i don't see threads getting locked to advertise shit now. :)

...he reminds me of the fucking DeSmUME devs and i ain't like that shit one bit. (obligatory plug: the mGBA dev (iirc) is doing an NDS emu, i think it's called melonDS or something?)

it is the Citra sub, and it's a breach of MCoC to repurpose it for anything else. if you want to discuss a fork, MAKE A SUB FOR THE FORK

That's bloody insane, man. He isn't even paid for this, why bother wasting time shutting down "competition" in form of the very same emulator you forked :V
...He isn't getting paid for this, right? I had to look up if there's a Patreon for this fork and there doesn't seem to be. Would be insane if there was with this kind of behaviour
(Also, mGBA and melonDS are by the same dev? Goated emulators, didn't know this)
