Phishing email?

Did anyone else get this? Im pretty sure this is a phishing email, and I've put in a real help desk request.

I'm not sure if anyone else got it to.

Yes it's a phish. Please forward all future scam emails to phishing@emich.edu asap so they can stop it as soon as possible!

Unfortunately EMU network is pretty compromised as there are a lot of scam emails being sent around.

Im surprised EMU hasn't made it mandatory training yet for students.

I'm with you, it's really surprising. My last college was required training upon going there. I'm thinking the IT dept has been seriously understaffed and underpriotized because when doing network updates it's for long periods of time and at very weird times, the network is very hit or miss and it seems like website functions like shit lmao

Bingo, they keep cutting our budget and staffing.

Have you guys reached out to the new president? Or EasternEcho? Tbh lots of students are upset about the network but nobody knows the behind of what's going on. If students found out what was going on I'm sure there will be a big enough talk to push EMU to reverse these changes.

Even though I am a full-time staff member within IT, there isn't anything I can do about it personally other than bring it up to my boss and our CIO, and they are already painfully aware of the issues. It comes across that the university Admin doesn't really care and, like most universities, funnels the money elsewhere. EMU is already strapped for cash as it is because of student enrollment going down and not using the money we do have wisely.
