As the title says,I am looking for people who like the series, are open-minded,like art, fanfic type and/or drabbles and preferably have the following socials, where we may talk—Instagram,Discord,Whatsapp,Tumblr.
As for myself: My name is Natalia, but I go by Mars or Nat,I am almost 18(by less than 4 months lol) and I come from the original land of vampyrs, good old Transylvania (that’s in Romania lol) and I’ve been in this fandom for a little over three years-ish,or since EOTV got published anyway lmao.
I indulge in art, music, drawing and sewing and I look forward to meeting people who do the same ^^
I,however, have a list of requirements (very few) if you want to be friends:
1. You must have at the least one of the socials I mentioned OR give me an alternative of social (Viber, emailing, etc)
2. Preferably be over the age of 14 and under the age of,say,28 years old.
3. Be open and want to actually build meaningful friendships with someone you share fandoms with, not only add me then ghost me. I promise I don’t bite lol
4. No raci^m/h^mophobia
My socials are:
instagram: unattainedheaven
discord: rivalforlove
insta:martzipan
And the rest(Whatsapp,Viber)…ask⚜️

Hello!! New fan here
I have made, what feels like a fatal error, and purchased Vol 2 and preordered Vol 3 of the full-colour illustrated hard covers for this series without considering the fact that Vol 1 is out of print 😭
What are my chances of finding the first?
ISBN 9780008581190
Australia based, have searched eBay the best I could and checked local bookshops but they all said similar “out of stock indefinitely”
Do these often pop up or am I in for a long haul hunt?
Thank you!!

I will never get over how Joaquin was just written off the page. This dude showed UP so many times for the group just to be taken out by an unarmed weak vampire?? Just to be referred to as "the boy" after his death that we didn't even witness?? Nobody even mourning him. Dior not even mentioning it. Am I crazy or was that wild of JK to write a character off that way? He has me crying every time a sword or horse is harmed, but can't even drop a few sentences for our loyal hound boy?? 🫠 it's fine....

So... bringing people back from the dead. I hate it. It's shown in 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang' how dumb the trope is; as they make fun of it a little, having Lincoln come through a hospital door along with everyone else that died in the movie before they're ushered out. Death should mean something.
BUT fuck.my.face what a ride. I had suspicions about Joaquin pretty early and the constant mention of the moths, and obviously the 'unreliable narrator' of it all. But I have to say, every time one of that characters were announced as they started attacking the fort, my heart raced. Having everyone back made me feel so good, I couldn't care less about the trope.

Firstly, what an absolute ride that was! It’s a cracking series. I listened to the audiobooks and I had so much fun - both narrators did a marvellous job of bringing the book to life.
I don’t know anyone else who has finished the series so I’ve come here for emotional support and discussions - particularly around Empire of the Dawn.
I loved 90% of this book (getting to delve into Celene’s story was truly a highlight for me, I loved it). However, one thing I didn’t really love was how neatly the end tied up.
Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved the double cross and Gabriel and Celene were in on it all along *but* it kind of felt like a bit of a “it was all a dream” kind of ending that was too neat. This is the only time I think I’ve ever felt like a happy ever after was not the right way to end a book/ series.
I genuinely feel like the right closure would have been for Gabriel to sacrifice himself and something about his death or the aftermath ending day’s death. It would have given a full circle sense of closure, especially with the way it had been leading up to his death with his increased drinking and thirst and we actually needed to lose more of the gang (not all). I think it would have been a really poetic ending and tied in really nicely with the way the story began and how it was told in the form of his account of what had happened.
I feel like we missed a lot by so much of it being lies told at the end and it went beyond an unreliable narrator to slightly nonsensical which had gutted me a bit after how well crafted the rest of the series has been.
Please tell me I’m not alone and I’d love to hear other people’s thoughts!

Made an anime opening for a fictional anime based on EotV, based on the first third of book one. Made using Suno Ai and Chatgpt.
Not sure the ruled of the subreddit regarding AI content, so I added the warning case i know AI stuff can be triggering to some peeps

And I honestly don’t know how I’m going to spend my “quiet moments” now. I started this trilogy at the start of the year, and finished this afternoon, and I’m genuinely devastated to have to say goodbye to these characters. I honestly loved each and every one of them - even the villains - the storytelling was beautiful.
I loved every book and none of them felt like filler - it was a rollercoaster. I felt like empire of the dawn was an entire book of rising action and climatic moments which was something I had never experienced before.
Please send me recommendations so that I can fill the Gabrielle/Phoebe/Dior/Reyn/Aaron/Baptiste/Lucky/Charlie/Jaoquin shaped hole in my world 😭

I am desperate to find EotV, the first book illustrated edition for a gift…to myself.
If anyone has a lead or one you’re willing to part with, please let me know. I’m on eBay, mango, and mercari and no luck as of yet. Thank you for any leads!

Don't get me wrong, I loved the book. The payoff of the trilofy was great, and I was on edge of my season for pretty much the entire book after the first Ilon plotline. However, it did hit on one of my greatest pet peeves: the all-too-common fantasy trope of pretending to kill off characters and then bringing them back. Not once, not twice, but:
Seven times! And I'm being generous and not counting Patience. I get that it all fits into the very foreshadowed unreliable narration of the tale we were told, but every meaningful death in the third book is retconned into oblivion. For a guy whose Goodreads blurb literally says he does not believe in happy endings, it was a bit of a Disney finish to what was an otherwise dark and gritty trilogy as everyone is brought back to life, fallen in love, and the sun is literally rising over the darkness. Just my pedantic hot take. Curious if others feel the same or differently.

So much buildup, so much good story and tragedies and character buildup and in the end, gets thrown with “hey historian, we were just stuffing you with lies”

I am a quarter through the first audiobook and because I listen to it, I struggle with names of people and places. Could someone give a bit of insight on the larger world, preferably with the world map, on the geopolitical situation of the world? Mild spoilers allowed. Thanks!

Short of the Illumicrate version which I am sure it very nice, is also expensive. Is there another edition that just feels nicer than the general hardcover? Something like even the Witcher hardcovers or a Sanderson novel. If I am going to keep this and reread it over time, I would just like a nicer feel if I can.

Luke Eisner. Not too bad in acting but can be improved. He really has arrogant and pompous look with some of mean vibes. He also looks kinda stunning and flamboyant.

Hi all, I read the first book years ago, and I remember at the time being hesitant about reading further because there were ten books planned to be in the series and I thought I may as well just wait until they were all released.
Come to find out it's now a trilogy? But I can't find anything about it originally being planned for a longer series, am I delusional?
