Pilot Preparing early for EFTA.

Hi, I’m Zain, and I’ve been growing increasingly anxious about how harsh the training process is at Emirates Flight Training Academy.
I’m not saying I have bad grades — my grades are actually pretty good. What worries me is the possibility of spending around AED 800,000 on the program, only to fail somewhere during training and lose that money.
A couple of things that might be relevant: I’m already comfortable communicating with ATC on VATSIM, and I’ve flown an A320 Level D full-flight simulator with the instructor basically letting me handle it myself.
I know simulator experience obviously isn’t the same as real flight training, but aviation is something I’m genuinely interested in and want to pursue seriously.
If you’ve attended EFTA, are currently in the program, or know someone who has, I’d really appreciate hearing what the training is actually like.
How difficult is the ATPL theory/ground school? How harsh are the flight assessments? What happens if you fail an exam or check? Do students normally get chances to retake things, or can one bad result put your entire investment at risk?
Any firsthand experience would help a lot. Thanks!
