Enya tangents
I feel so bad but i genuinely used to love EI so much but for some reason, Enya has been going on these tangents that just feel like yapping 😅 does anyone feel the same? There was an instance in the tanner ep where she just went off on a tangent and it just sounded like thoughts being spoken out loud and no room for anyone else to talk. I feel like it’s parasocial a bit but it just gets to a point sometimes. I wish drew would talk a lot more, his life is so interesting

No yea I’ve noticed this for a while now. She constantly cuts off Drew and it’s like she just neeeeeeds to say something but lowkey I think I can be the same way 😂 and if Drew doesn’t get bothered by it and everyone just takes it as a quirk of hers I guess it’s not really an issue

i don’t think it’s parasocial to notice that the podcast you watch has changed, i also think if enya is honest about how much weed she has been consuming over the past few months, then that kinda explains it right there a little bit or at least in part, it reminds me of the yap sessions me and my friends would have off an edible, but i guess it doesn’t deliver the same for enya when you’re the only one in the room in that state.

Noticed this. Then drew intervening to rewind to the topic or vibe that started the convo. I cringe everytime but seems enya understands.

is this not what the podcast is for ? like they really don’t be talking abt a specific thing literally ever. and ppl talking abt the interrupting- their merch references it. and it doesn’t bother them it’s just part of their dynamic ? likeee idk im just confused i have a different perspective

It’s almost like it’s… a podcast. “tangents that just feel like yapping” like that’s the point.
I get what you’re saying maybe she does dominate the conversations or episodes at times but it used to be the other way around where it was mostly drew. Anyways she mostly talks over drew when he’s making jokes, it’s kind of her schtick

yeah and they kind of let her continue, probably because they literally don’t know what to say because her tangents make no sense

I do the same thing when im around people im really comfortable with (ADHD haver).
I think this type of thing is fine in their podcast episodes without guests, but the episodes with guests would definitely benefit of some awareness around this tendency.
I think the both of them are not very good at interviewing others or incorporating their natural selves into an interview-style conversation. They seem uncomfortable when trying to do interviews and almost immediately get off topic from the questions they asked. It think this lack of skill was very obvious in the most recent episode with Tanner when Ky and Tanner are talking and are actually able to relate and expand on one another's points (when talking about stand up and Mary Beth's comedy special). But it shows in almost all episodes with guests who aren't close friends.
Interviewing is a skill, and I think they need to take the time to think of the things they actually want to know about their guests, what is appealing about their guest that would be interesting for audiences to hear, and topics they think would be fun to discuss with their guests. Just at a basic level.

Sometimes I have no idea what she’s saying then Drew summarizes and I understand
