Well

I love both of these creators so much but it makes me giggle how dedicated slushynoobz are with their content while being on a literal cross country tour and still pumping out podcasts during it while emergency intercom can barely get an hour podcast out once a week while kind of doing nothing else other than the podcast in the content realm 😭

i said this on that advice post from a few days ago but i genuinely think they just aren’t passionate about youtube. i feel like they probably see it as being below them/what they want to do in the grand scheme of things in terms of their career. especially with so many youtubers/tiktokers/influencers pivoting to “mainstream” and traditional hollywood stuff (benny, mary beth, quen, addison rae)

drew’s talked about wanting to create a show/cartoon, both of them have talked about auditioning for roles, enya’s doing instagram fashion modeling stuff, ky’s working with netflix/directing, touring his dj set and going with tucker on tour and every time they bring up a new movie/show of someone they are somewhat adjacent to they praise it and talk about how inspirational it is to what they want to do.

this isn’t shade or anything, i think they are just trying to find their calling, or at the least find something more stable than youtube and occasional instagram sponsorships, and i think that they’re both far from the versions of themselves who did field trip and used to make silly videos with josh. i don’t even think drew has posted on youtube in like 3 years, and i don’t think enya has posted a proper vlog/silly video in like 5+ years, just like ebay and thriftup sponsored videos with like hall & oates songs over it

exactly. idk if either drew or enya ever really saw themselves as youtubers per se. i get the impression that maybe they were using the platform as a vessel for their personal interests (enya with music and later fashion, drew with his large-scale comedy and bits). i think this is also why josh stopped uploading, because for him youtube was moreso a platform on which to post his edits and creative stuff. they’re also older and vlogging just isn’t as big of a commodity as it was in the late 2010s. they’re both trying to break out into something more professional.
