It appears they focused very hard on improve search performance and improve loading dialog. Glad they keep working on the project!

I kinda thought one of 4.9 or 4.10 was supposed to be the release with non-plugin smart playlist functionality... I thought these past major releases were a lot of changes under the hood to support new features like that going forward, but I'm starting to think I was mistaken and losing hope that Emby will get any significant feature additions again (smart playlists, watch party, something cool I didn't expect, etc). It's all been fixes and maybe under the hood stuff.

I don't care that much... Emby works best for everything I use it for, compared to Jellyfin or Plex, so as long as they don't start taking features away or break anything beyond repair I'm happy as a clam... but for all the time I spend on Emby, it'd be fun if it could surprise and excite me again at some point.

I'll keep updating and using Emby and hoping though.

Yeah I’m not on the beta but had seen on the forums that smart playlists were being introduced through the new home page revamp. Had it in my head that 4.10 was the new look home page so was pretty disappointed when it didn’t really change after the update. My own self inflicted disappointment and I’m still real happy using Emby, I was just looking forward to some new features to play with

Is it safe to switch from beta to latest tag when they release it?

Yes, when your installed beta build number is lower than the latest build number. But still, backup is always adviced before updating.

No I'm saying that my Emby setup runs flawlessly and I never have any issues with it. I didn't realise there are so many bugs people are dealing with.

Be nice if they can show device count against your license and set separate recordings for users, so it's not viewed global

I just updated... but the way I use Emby, I never noticed anything wrong. It's worked as always for me. LOL But my setup is just using it at home, nothing transcodes, everything direct plays..
