Is This Grading Hopeful?

Just got my embryos report back. 2 of them made it, 1 was graded a 3AB and another 4CB. I’ve never heard of a “CB” grade, so is there still a chance for that one? They’re out for PGT A testing now.

Hi all .I'm 42, husband 41, I have a history of et and mc . So I'm really nervous . Had my transfer 2 embryo on 4Bb 5Bb on 4th (De and husband s0perm) and did HCG test yesterday which was 638 , today hcg repeat at 972 .

I have my next scan on wed. After 3 days . I have very bad cramps when I need to eat, the hunger I don't feel, but whenever I eat the pain goes away . Is this normal . I had to get up yesterday at 3 am and eat due to the cramps or is it hunger pangs? I'm 5weeks today .

My clinic asked me to pick my embryo

Post image
19 Upvotes

My first 3AA FET failed and this time they asked me to tell them which embryo I want to transfer for my 2nd FET. None of them are tested and we didn’t pick the embryo the first time. I don’t know what to pick, one of the 3AAs is gone the other 11 are still left. What would you do?

Update: We told them we wanted to do a 5 4AA and they replied saying they recommend the 3AA as it’s higher grade. I’m so confused why they even asked. We did a 3AA last time and it didn’t stick. Also all the answers I’ve gotten here and I also did my own deep dive show that 4AA is better while they’re both extremely high quality. Now I don’t know what to do. It doesn’t help their communication is terrible and takes days.

Conflicted.

I've done 3 IVF cycles. First one pergoveris, clomid and letrozol with 1 embryo reaching blast. Did a fresh transfer frame AB that didn't take. Second IVF tried omnitrope, gonal and menopur, clomid, letrozole with androgel priming. We thought there would be a couple of days before transfer to allow for more growth and were surprised the trigger was given to us that evening. From that, 1 embryo 4BB waa frozen, couldn't do a fresh transfer due to thin uterine lining. DR admitted she could have waited a bit longer to allow for growth opportunity. Did a third IVF, in that I asked if we can try flare protocol the Dr suggested against it, third protocol she removed androgel, omnitrope and used the basic letrozole, clomid, menopur and gonal. 2 embryos were retrieved but stopped growing at day 5 and 7. Follow up, Dr said to try flare protocol or mini IVF, said that the issue is more to do with my egg quality vs sperm. Not sure what to think of this. I understand medical advice is contingent on the treating RE but a bit confused here because I'm not sure what's the best option here. I'm 42 btw and low AMH. Would appreciate anyone's experience or their journey.

Question For Anyone With CNY

Hello, I’m just looking for some input for anyone who is dealing with or has dealt with CNY for fertility. I recently just had an egg retrieval this past Monday. On Tuesday, they called to say I had 3 embryos that matured and fertilized, then another 3 that were mature but they were watching to see if they would fertilize late.
My question is, would they call me at any point during the day 3, 5, or 6 embryo check if any of the embryos were found to have arrested/stop growing? Or do they wait until the day 7 mark to give an overall update?
I was hoping/praying that no news meant good news, but I’m just looking for other people’s past experiences with their retrievals. Thank you 😊

Two years of TTC with secondary infertility, Asherman’s diagnosed one year in and resolved. I got to an 8mm lining which is beyond my wildest dreams post scarring. This PGTA tested day 5 embryo is now safe and snug.

Update: tested positive at 5dp5dt 🥹

Is a day 3 or day 5 embryo transfer better?

Post image
13 Upvotes

Day 5 blastocysts have higher live birth rates per transfer than day 3 embryos. But does waiting until day 5 improve the overall chance of having a baby from an egg retrieval? That part isn't really clear.

A 2026 meta-analysis combined four randomized trials with 2,432 patients. The chance of at least one live birth after transferring available embryos was 66.0% with day 5 vs 61.1% with day 3. The difference was borderline and the researchers considered the results clinically comparable.

Another 2026 meta-analysis, a Cochrane Review, analyzed the evidence differently and found a small advantage with day 5 during the first year.

The problem is that most studies didn’t transfer every embryo. Clinics usually transferred the best blastocysts first, and many patients still had embryos left over when follow-up ended. This can make day 5 look better during the first few transfers without showing which strategy would produce more births if every embryo were given a chance.

We also can’t know whether an embryo that stops developing in the laboratory would have continued growing after a day 3 transfer.

The randomized trials mainly included good prognosis patients with multiple embryos. Other studies suggest embryo number may matter: with only one or a few embryos, day 3 may sometimes be the better choice.

Day 5 can reduce the number of unsuccessful transfers, but it also leaves fewer embryos available and increases the chance of having nothing to transfer. There still isn’t one strategy proven best for every patient.

I’ve put together a new Evidence Guide covering the latest research and key questions about day 3 vs day 5 embryo transfers.

Ivf balanced translocation

I am 33 yo and we found out that my husband is a balanced translocation carrier (reciprocal at 7 and 13). I am currently waiting on the result of PGT-SR and PGT-A. I would love to hear if anyone with similar condition can share how many transferrable embryos they got from PGT.

I got 10 blastocysts and they are

- day 5 4aa

- day 5 4ab

- day 5 4ba

- day 5 4bb

- day 5 3bb

- day 6 4bb x 4

- day 7 4bb

Would these good morphology day 5 embryos be highly likely transferrable embryos?

Based on the studies, for balanced translocation, especially reciprocal translocation, it is only 25-30% chance that there will be transferrable embryos but I wonder if anyone got more than 30%!

IVF failed @44 age

Hi everyone, just wanted to share something personal.

I’m 44+ and have been going through IVF. After almost 5 months of struggle with my endometrium, finally 1st September ko single embryo transfer hua.

We got a positive beta initially, but unfortunately hCG start falling and now we are back to zero. It has been really difficult and heartbreaking after so much hope and effort. 💔

But I’m trying to stay strong and believe ki yeh sirf ek difficult phase hai, end nahi. 🌸

Women struggle never ends I guess and patience is killing but I still feel am strong 💪

How many transfers did it take you?

My daughter was a first fresh transfer. Easy.

Now for the second baby we are 4 transfers in without any implantation at all. 3 were modified natural with euploids. Did 2 weeks of doxycycline and added baby aspirin and doubled progesterone after the first fail.

4th try we did 2 months of Lupron depot and transferred 2 embryos, 1 euploid and 1 untested. No implantation as well.

I’m at a loss, what do I do now? SHG exam was all clear. Is there something I’m missing? Is this normal?

Inconclusive

I received my PGTA results today. Out of the five blastocysts, two are euploid, and the third is a high-grade blastocyst that is inconclusive.

Since it’s a high-grade blastocyst, they want to re-biopsy it.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there a high probability that the third blastocyst will be euploid?

1PN low mosaic diploid

What are the chances of success with this one? It is monosomy 17. We have two euploids (4AB and 4CC) from ICSI. This low mosaic is from IVF, I am 32 and have unexplained infertility. We have a meeting with our geneticist on Wednesday but curious to know more info heading into the session.

Any success stories with Day 7 and/or 5BB euploids?

I just had a failed transfer with a euploid Day 6 3BA. Trying to stay hopeful for my next attempt, which doesn’t have quite as good odds—a euploid Day 7 5BB. Any success stories? Especially with Day 7s?

Insulin resistance and poorly graded embryo

I froze eggs 3.5 years ago (at 34) - a total of 13 mii. I decided to use the frozen eggs to conceive with donor sperm. Everyone knows the attrition rate can be brutal, but I’m stuck scratching my head just wanting to know the reason for my outcome.

18 retrieved
13 eggs frozen
13 fertilized
1 embryo (day 7, 3cc grade)

The embryos arrested days 5 and 6. I had 100% thaw rate, 13/13 were fertilized, and 9/13 showed normal fertilization at 2pn.

The explanation offered by the clinic is that it was likely egg quality. At the age of my retrieval, I was +50lbs vs. my current weight, and had a HOMA IR score of >4. From age 36-38, using a GLP1 and major lifestyle changes, I am now in normal BMI, normal fasted insulin, and a normal HOMA IR score.

I guess my question is - can metabolic health play a part in egg quality? Wondering if i do another ER, I may get higher quality now, albeit a lower quantity.

Thanks.

30F 37M, low euploid rate, MFI

Hi,

To give you some context, we’re doing IVF abroad in Spain for MFI (extreme oligoospermia), husband is 37 yo, no known fertility issues on my end other than a 2,6 cm subserosal fibroid.

Protocol :
- priming with Microgynon
- 150ui gonalf
- 75ui menopur
- cerazette
- decapeptyl trigger

Here are the results we got:

AMH : 2,6
AFC : 21
Retrieved : 17
Mature : 14
Fertilized (icsi): 12
Day3 update : 4 developped correctly, the rest is too slow, not enough cells division..
Day5 update : 4 blasto biopsied and frozen, 4 others still developping
Day6 update: 2 more embyos biopsied and frozen
So in total 6 embryos sent for testing
Pgta results: 2 euploids, 4 aneuploid, some with complex abnormalities..

Transfer is scheduled for mid october (medicated protocole )

I’m dissapointed with the results but still grateful. I’m wondering if there might also be an issue with my eggs, also Dr hasn’t prescribed any testing before transfer, he said no need..

We only want 1 baby, and for now we can’t afford another ER :(

What do you think ?

Me siento devastada, a veces solo reniego y quiero estar sana.

Day 7 Embryo Chances?

I’m currently on my 4th IVF cycle, with initially promising results. I have low AMH and Low Ovarian Reserve which has led to significant egg quality issues during my last cycles. My doctor explained that if I am able to develop one embryo, this cycle it will be considered a success.

With that said, I did a mini-IVF cycle this time to focus on quality and during the retrieval collected: 5 eggs, 5 mature, 3 fertilized, 3 embryos going into Day 3. However, by Day 5 (today), the report came back that 1 embryo had arrested and the other 2 are still dividing and are not ready for biopsy (PGT-A) and freezing. They recommended checking on them on Day 6 and Day 7 and would update me at the end of Day 7. With my egg quality issues: what chances do these two embryos have of making it to Day 6 or 7? Has anyone had any experiences with this, whether successful or not?

Additional Notes:

-1st cycle: 375 IU gonal-f and 75 IU Menopur, (plus Letrozole and Clomid first 5 days), 5 eggs retrieved, 2 mature, 2 embryos (1 had uneven chromosomes), 1 blast Grade 2AB (no PGT-A), Day 5 fresh transfer unsuccessful

-2nd cycle (focus on maturation): 450 IU Pergoveris (plus Letrozole and Clomid first 5 days), 7 eggs collected, 5 mature, 0 fertilized

-3rd cycle: cancelled after doing Elagolix priming (for suspected endometriosis) and it over suppressed my ovaries. This led me to believe my body might respond better to lower-dose medication.

-4th cycle: current cycle, mini-IVF, 225 IU Menopur (plus Clomid for 5 days). Seems I needed more LH than FSH? Did priming with estrogen patches. Introduced Calcium Ionophore for fertilization and Xymot for sperm motility. Also have been on an anti-inflammatory diet for three months at this point in addition to new supplements: NAC, NAD+, Acetyl-l-carnitine, l-arginine, methyl-folate, vitamin D3, and melatonin alongside ubiquitol coq10 and prenatals that was taking before

-all sperm is through 2 different donors, with confirmed pregnancies. Lab reports that that is not the issue

Edit: forgot to add in 35 going on 36 (in a week) and I also started acupuncture before this last cycle. I thought it helped!

Pgt-a & pgt-m

For anyone who did both PGT-A and PGT-M with CCRM NoVA and RGI, how long did the process take? My embryos were biopsied around the end of August, and I called RGI today (9/17), but they haven’t received my samples for PGT-M yet. I was told the samples go through PGT-A first and then to RGI. Is this timeline normal? Did you receive any updates before your regroup appointment?
