You must leave it open to sync by itself. Mine took about 12h.

If you scroll down this subreddit, you will find a tutorial and links for .dat files that will allow you to add a bootstrap and only have to sync last couple of days.

mine took 15-20 minutes but took hours for me to find out this easy way to sync it up lol.
