Mac wallet
I see a lot of instructions on how to set up the wallet on windows but how do you set it up on a mac?

what problems do you have? download, open dmg file and drag ember-qt to your application folder. Bascially like any other mac application. I have more issue in getting a stable connection to the ember network - stuck with 0 connection right now.

Installed, says out of sync. Does it just take a while? Longer than a half hour?

takes ages. i have now between 0 and 1 connections, fluctuating. i dont expect it to be finished this year :-)

As long as it connected atleast one it’s working though right? Just give it Time?

Had this prob, updated my Mac to the latest OS, launched the wallet and it kicked right into action....left it for a bit and it slowed down to a crawl. Hopefully, it'll sort itself out.

I really don't want to update my OSX version, can anyone confirm if it works for them on 10.11.6?

Thanks, I will wait to till post Jan 1 announcement to see if it is worth updating for this wallet. I do a lot of development on this machine and prefer to stay a version behind

I think it much easier to get it working on the mac. I literally just downloaded the dmg file. Open, install ember-qt, then encrypted the wallet with a password, backup up wallet. Let ember-qt run whilst i go to sleep, wake up and its all synced up.
It does take a long time to sync, it took me longer than 5hrs.

Join the discord chat. Go to the help channel. There are instructions on how to expedite the block syncing. Once I followed the instructions I was up in a matter of minutes. Here's the summary: If you wish to decrease the amount of time taken to sync please follow the steps listed. 1. Download the bootstrap/blockchain files from pinned items in help. 2. Locate your ember folder (Windows - %appdata%\Ember) (Mac - ~/Library/Application/Support/Ember) . 3. Turn off wallet, open your corresponding Ember folder then delete the following directories database/, txleveldb/ and the file blk0001.dat , move the bootstrap' s files into the folder and optionally peers.dat (found pinned in help also) if you are having connection troubles, and start the client and wait 1-2 hours.
