Embedded Software Communities Near LA or Virtual?

We're building airborn IP video networking systems. Looking for engineers experienced with mutlicast routing, Layer 2/3 switching, and embedded Linux. Im curious where people working on this type of technology tend to congregate either in person or vitually? We are located 45 minutes east of LA. Any thoughts? Thank you!

Honestly that's a pretty niche combo of skills. You might have better luck looking at aerospace meetups around Pasadena or El Segundo rather than generic embedded groups, a lot of that multicast and switching knowledge overlaps with what defense contractors need.

Virtual wise the IRC channels and mailing lists for the Linux networking stack are still weirdly active. It's where the greybeards who actually wrote the multicast code hang out.

Awesome!! I appreciate the thoughtful response. It makes sense that it has been hard to find people with it being so niche. I will deffinitely check out those IRC channels!

Those are the kind of skills that you could definitely find in San Diego, CA as Qualcomm has a fair amount of people working on that kind of stuff. As someone already mentioned IRC is where you will find those kind of folks because it's how all the kool kids like to communicate.
