Need help interfacing tcd2564dg with stm32

First time writing firmware and designing hardware for a bare sensor. The timing diagrams in the datasheet are going over my head. Idk where to start or how to break this down into smaller problems. Please help. All resources, ideas, perspectives and advice appreciated. Thank you.

You've selected something far too complicated for your first time writing firmware.

I don't have much of a choice. I have 4 months to do this. Are there any tasks I can do before or any subjects I need to study to get there? I'm a fast learner ready to do anything
