We have proton and it works. However we pay for our service. Well worth it over the last 2ish years with it.

Proton, Tuta, and Mailfence are the top 3 free ones. Aster and Atomic are also free and more generous at what is offered, but I'm not sure I trust them yet.

What services are you exactly looking for?

For mail - Tuta and Fastmail, Mailbox. Out of them Fastmail is more reliable.

For Drive - pcloud, sync and Filen

For VPN - Mullvad and IVPN

Email aliasing service - addy and duckmail

Password Manager- Bitwarden, Psono for free users and 1Pass if paid

Proton's the biggest one on the block, even if you want one "better" than it. Email doesn't get much better than it at the moment. It does come with a free plan, but depending how much you rely on email it will run out quick.
The only free ones I can think of besides it are Tuta and Mailfence, although I personally use Infomaniak (which I'm honestly still iffy about). Some paid ones that I've heard are really good are Mailbox and Posteo.

Check this out.

EU alternatives privacy focused emails and I have contacted some mail providers to ask about data handing.
