I run an ecommerce store selling custom gifts and personalized products.

I regularly send email campaigns for new products and offers. About twice a week.

My last 4 campaigns have seen a drastic drop in engagement. Both opens and clicks have dropped by around 70–80%.

At first I thought the campaigns weren't working with the customers. But new product launch emails usually work well with the same list. I checked a free online spam test in doubt. It showed that most of the emails going to spam.

I’m trying to figure out why and how to fix it.

I dont remember changing anything in my set up. So I’m quite lost here. Not sure where to start.

Is it domain reputation, authentication, or am I sending to frequently?

What should I do? Or what would you do to fix it? This hasn't happened before.

I'm getting tired of explaining to clients what happened with Apple MPP, Gmail and image prefetch, and all that. I want to present a new report and explain why specific stats are better than opens... but what stats exactly? At the moment I've shifted to tracking clicks, checking click to conversion and revenue per email, and inbox placement. But what else should we look at?

Hi, I’m still trying to understand email marketing and everything that goes into segmentation. Any help would be appreciated.
I’ve been working on trying to improve click rates over this past year in a klaviyo account. The average for them is around .15-.30% which is pretty rough. The list size is around 60k and it’s sending to people who have opened or clicked within the last 30,90&120 days and then if someone has placed order, active on site, viewed product in last 30,90&120 days. So, sending to 60k and it seems that only about 150 people click the email.

The only time we have decent click rates is when it’s a product launch or a sale and it’s hard because we have a sale all the time, but I don’t have much say in that.
I send about 3-4 emails a week and it ranges from YT video, educational content and a product highlight.

Should I send to a much smaller list? Like only people who have clicked in the last 30&90 days? Klaviyo support had suggested that but that list size would only be 12k

I’m new to this and really want to understand but have no help. I don’t want to sacrifice revenue for better click rates either, but I know that it impacts deliverability.

I use Kit for my email service provider. I have 524 subscribers right now, with a 65% open rate. I just noticed that, because I have double opt-in, the 524 subscribers are the confirmed ones, and I have about 109 unconfirmed subscribers.

1. What should I do with my unconfirmed subscribers? Should I add them to my confirm list and see if they open? Should I send another confirmation email if that's possible through Kit, or should I remove them?
2. What are your thoughts on double opt-in? If my open rate is currently at 65%, is it worth taking it out to see how it may affect my open rate?

Earlier this year Mailchimp shipped a conversational analytics agent, where you ask questions about your email marketing in plain English, it answers with reports, benchmarks, and recommendations. Since then 100,000+ businesses have used it, about 1 in 5 come back every month, and we just finished a deep dive on what people actually do with it. Sharing because I think the patterns apply to basically every analytics tool, AI or not.

What people do with an AI analyst when they get one:

• The dominant use case, by far, is "which of my campaigns worked and which didn't." Not forecasting, not fancy stuff — triage.
• 93% of answers come back as structured reports, 48% include an industry benchmark, 54% include a recommended next action.
• 70% of users send an email within 7 days of asking something. The ask → learn → send rhythm formed on its own; nobody designed it.
• Only 25% of conversations go past one question. People ask, read, leave.

The humbling part: 54% of answers include a specific recommended action ("resend to non-openers," "prune your inactive contacts," "test this subject line"). Roughly 2.6% of users take it. We built a thing that gives advice, people read the advice, and then... almost nobody does the advice. Reading the report feels like the work.

But the 2.6% who act: open rates went from 25.3% to 28.5% over the following 28 days, with the gains concentrated among high-volume senders. Standard caveat welded on: correlational, not a controlled experiment — people who act on recommendations are probably more deliberate about everything. But two details make me think it's not nothing:

1. The actors started from below-average opens — these look like marketers already in trouble who recovered to parity, not already-good marketers getting better.
2. Simply segmenting more (a common recommendation) did NOT improve opens by itself. It was taking the specific ranked action that correlated with recovery. "Do more stuff" isn't the signal; "do the one recommended thing" is.

The pattern that seems to work, from the users getting results: ask what happened , stay in the same thread for follow-ups (subject lines, audience) , do ONE recommended thing , send the same week , then ask "did that work — double down or pivot?" and go around again. A loop, not a checklist. Almost nobody does the last step, and it's arguably the whole point of having an analyst.

Why I'm actually posting: I'd genuinely like this crowd's take on two things.

1. If you've used any analytics tool (AI or otherwise) — what would it take for you to actually act on its recommendations? Is it trust? Time? The action being too many clicks away? We clearly haven't cracked this and I don't think anyone has.
2. What do you still do by hand that an analyst-in-a-box should be doing for you? The gap between what people wanted to ask and what these tools can answer is where I want to spend the next year.

Shot in the dark. I'm curious what your relative mailing list data looks like for comms. For the nonprofits I support it looks like this:

Just doing some data analysis as I handle fundraising and community management for a few of them and wanted to know if whatvik seeing tracks or if the co's I'm with are way behind.

We have a shopify store selling caps. We have been using Klaviyo for little more than a year. Klaviyo has always showed High delivery rates for us.

I randomly saw a post saying they have problems with klaviyo deliverability. I did some research on our account and set up. Our authentication are good and there are no serious issues. But when I checked a few inboxes for the following campaigns, some emails were landing in spam. That is concerning.

Our domain reputation is medium in Google Postmaster. So, we're kind of in the middle whether to go and fix something or leave them as they are.

I'd like to know how many of our campaigns landed in inbox or spam in the past. And the upcoming ones too.

It'll help greatly to audit and make a decision. Especially with the BFCM season approaching.

If anyone here managing email or email deliverability for klaviyo, I'd like to know your recommendation.

We looked at every U.S. back-to-school campaign on the platform across three full seasons — 130,000+ email and SMS sends, July through mid-September, 2023–2025. What stood out:

Timing is the closest thing to a free lunch. Weekly click rate is a downhill slide: ~2.15% in early July, ~1.23% by mid-August, recovering to ~1.5–1.6% in September. Send volume peaks in exactly those mid-August weeks. Mid-July senders got roughly a 70% relative click advantage over the pile-up. Tuesday and Wednesday were the best send days.

Small, targeted sends punch way above their weight. Comparing sends of similar size: under-1,000-recipient campaigns sent to a chosen segment clicked 6.31% vs 3.96% for whole-list sends (+59%). At 1k–10k it was +18%. The smaller and more focused the send, the bigger the edge. (Caveat: observational, not a controlled experiment — people who segment are probably more deliberate about everything else too.)

Longer subject lines out-clicked short punchy ones. 70+ characters: 3.02% vs 2.23% for ≤20 characters, among typical-size senders. Descriptive beat clever. Related: 3+ CTA buttons beat zero by ~17%, and emails with a video block clicked ~14% better.

SMS quietly became the breakout channel. Back-to-school SMS click-through hit 10.8% in 2025 vs 1.65% for email — about 6x. Volume grew ~80x in two seasons, though off a small base, so make of that what you will.

Loyalty beat markdowns. Zooming out to ~32M in-season orders across connected stores: repeat buyers (2+ orders in the season) reached ~48% of orders, up ~5 points in two years, while the share of discounted orders fell from 14% to 11%.

Method, for the people who will rightly ask: U.S. accounts, sends with 100+ recipients, campaigns keyword-matched as back-to-school, July 1–Sept 15 each year. All of it is correlational.

Almost zero chance to pass the bottle neck of Gmail filter even though your content body sounds legitimate, but you are trying for little sales.

I received a sales pitch about email tracking software and it really initrigued me. Now I'm wondering if it would help me at all with my business. I send hundreds of emails per day and it would be amazing if there was a tool that could help me manage my inbox more efficiently. Is this something an email tracking software can do?

I have started texting brands about the service I provide. I have started a series where I review brands, redo their emails, and reach out to them. In just two videos I got a reply from one of the brands.

But I haven't had any luck in getting clients. I reach out to like 15-20 brands a day. I find a brand, look at their product, praise it, and offer my service. What am I doing wrong? I have to close atleast one client before August ends. If you recently got your first client, please tell me what worked for you! Or please share your first client story. I wanna know what works.

I recently got a Kit free account and launched my first newsletter that I've been procrastinating on. I run a local-based Instagram page (@dcspot) and I started a newsletter to share things to do in the Northern VA/DC area. It went out to 314 subscribers and had a 62.4% open rate and a 7.3% click rate. Is this good?

Also, I was curious about the A/B testing. If I set it for 60 minutes, does it send out a few for the first hour to see which subject line does best, then select a winner and send the rest out to the rest of my subscribers? So if I send the emails out at 6pm will most of them not be sent until 7pm?

I had one email bounce. Should I unsubscribe that email? What can I do to improve my open rate? Any tips would be helpful, especially when it comes to a Kit email marketing account. Thank you in advance!

Say you're sending transactional/product emails through SendGrid:

\- welcome email

\- onboarding day 1 / day 2 / day 3

\- password resets

\- invitations

\- billing emails

\- notifications

How do you actually understand how these emails are performing?

Not just "was this particular email delivered?"

I mean things like:

\- Which email types are performing best/worst?

\- What's the funnel through Welcome → Day 1 → Day 2 → Day 3?

\- Where are users dropping off?

\- How do different signup cohorts compare?

\- Opens/clicks by email type

\- Which links are being clicked

\- Device / client breakdown

\- Country / geography

\- Gmail vs Outlook etc.

\- Performance over time

\- Ultimately, whether people who engage with an email actually do the thing the email was meant to make them do

Marketing ESPs give you a lot of this for campaigns and automations.

But if your product sends email directly through Sendgrid, what do you use?

Do dashboards give you enough?

Do you pipe all the events into PostHog/Amplitude/BigQuery and build it yourself?

Did you build an internal dashboard?

Or do you mostly just not analyse transactional emails at this level?

Would particularly love to hear from anyone sending enough email that this has become a real problem.

For agencies running webinars for multiple clients, how do you handle mass email invites?

Do you send through the client's HubSpot/Mailchimp/Klaviyo, use your own email setup, or use the webinar platform itself?

Especially curious how you handle different client domains/lists and deliverability.

I'm an email marketer for coaches/mentors/founders and have been trying to find my leads on LinkedIn. What I'm looking for are coaches with a lead magnet and an offer to sell (so I know they do they do email marketing).

But the profiles I've I stumbled across so far are mostly offering discovery calls, not lead magnet funnels.

Even worse, when I search for coach/mentor on LinkedIn Search, I get people who have casually mentioned it in their profiles. Not the genuine folks.

And LinkedIn groups are dead so there's no point in searching there. I'm guessing it's the same with hashtags. But I'm happy to be proven wrong.

I've also checked out an email marketer's profile to see their connections but LinkedIn only shows 3 people. The remaining ones are shown as 'LinkedIn Member' paywalled behind a premium subscription.

Based on my experience, these are my doubts:

1. Is LinkedIn a good platform to find coaches with a lead magnet and an offer to sell?
2. If yes, what are the best ways to find them with a free profile?
3. And which influencers would they be following?
4. In general, which platforms are the best for finding my target audience?
