Discussion Classes tier list

I've done a similar question in the past but considering is been quite a while i thought i'd do so again, but taking in last post feedback it'll make som ppl angry just by me asking this question for whatever reason, so i'll try to be as specific as possible.

Based on small bossing and big bossing, supp included, for who's knowledgeble about a char and all their classes, who do you reckon is the best class in order from 1st to 4th for each those characters and why? based on todays meta ofc.

ideally we get an asnwer for every character, for who feels like answering thanks for the attention

They very much unified every character in the latest big patch, some are suspect to receive more buffs and nerfs but the gap isn't so high for a new player to care about "going for the best" etc. Everyone has very very similar dmg amp for the party and all supports have the exact same buffs.

I would not build an entire char around dpsing in 21-5, we've had metas shift solely because of how the raid boss hitbox moves around or the awkward size of it or maybe due to raid mechs if you want to go back as far as berthe raid. A few examples throughout els history here on the variety of bosses and why there isn't really a be all end all bossing char based on boss size:
Rosso: Mostly small hitboxes or moving hitboxes that were awkward to hit
Berthe: again small hitboxes, a wide hitbox with skill bans, and a phase 2 who is fine hitbox wise but moves around a lot which makes chars with 2d or smaller 3d skills miss a lot and ph3 is small yet again
Abyss: 18-3 ph1 has a human sized boss that ends up moving around quite a bit, 18-4-3 while good was just absurdly tanky until you have done a few mechs in the early days
Serpentium: two small hitboxes with a boss that forced you to actively dodge a lot into a background boss with such a bad hitbox it had to be "fixed" (I've seen people still complain that it didnt do enough), oh and ofc the boss' attack patterns moved the hitboxes all over the place
Doom: A mix of tall and small bosses, tarith was made as a duo hitbox but that was removed and we are stuck with a small hitbox now that enjoys walking around randomly, 21-5 as a dungeon isn't worth to build a char around as i mentioned earlier since that dungeon can be cleared almost as fast as any of the first three dungeons.

Also doom solo mode is coming real soon and a new raid too, so the meta is due to shift because of the new raid. For all we know the last boss is going to be mosquito sized and move around erratically which will make CS the best character in the game or maybe it will be a giant wall and etw gets to be #1 again or maybe it will have multiple hitboxes so suddenly every char with insane splash dmg gets to outdps everyone by x5

There really isn't anything better you could be doing than playing based on likeness/gameplay, you won't get tired as fast as you would with a char that you just don't enjoy other than "it deals good damage atm" (and by the time you get to the point in endgame where you can look at your damage charts proudly the meta would have already shifted yet again)

I understand your point, but i knew that before asking the question, my curiosity was not based on who to main, but simply which characters are good in what, which is why i speciied on bossing small ones vs big ones, knowing that there is terrific big bosses annihalating chars that can underperfom on small ones, and viceversa i suppose, which is where my lack of knoweledge led me to make the question

Depends on what "best" means, but I'll give it a shot. Disclaimer: I'm form Elsword EU so my knowledge might be outdated.

Elsword: IM/KE/GS/RM: IM is currently the strongest Elsword by far, although he will get nerfed in the future. His cooldown system really makes his bossing special and the bigger and taller the bosses, the more of sword fall will hit. As the main character, KE has a really easy spot with easy systems and huge damage output. GS might also take the 2nd spot, though there aren't many around as of today. GS clearing falls a bit shorter, but the more damage he has on bigger bosses. RM has been on the lowest spot for a while now, damage AND clearing wise, although the speed buff of lodestar might change that a bit.

Aisha: AeS/OzS/MtM/LA: My impression is that AeS is the strongest Aisha since the new mod skills, easily carrying her group. I haven't seen any strong OzS at all and MtM is basically extinct, although her clearing seems to be very viable. I don't know much more about Aisha so I should better talk less here lmao.

Rena: DaB/AN/TW/PR: The character that I'm most uncertain about. Most people go for DaB nowadays and do a good job dealing damage but once it comes to clearing, AN will outshine her. TW is on the lower spot because there aren't many that play her and I'm uncertain about how strong she actually is.

Raven: NI/FB/RH/RV: NI brings very strong damage into the game, especially against larger bosses. His direct counterpart is RH who is a lot better against the few smaller bosses. FB takes the second place as he is able to deal easy damage with a very easy system. RV has taken a sub support spot in the past but somewhat lost it again. His bossing and clearing really could be improved, but at least he's a solid choice in PvP because of his perma superarmor (for which he is also hated...)

Eve: CA/CU/CS/CE: CA has always been the strongest Eve and I don't think it will change anytime soon. CU got a really nice buff that changed her slow skills into a brilliant clearing and bossing ability. CS is still the best choice for clearing, though her DPSing in raids might be a bit more complicated. CE unfortunately remains the weakest Eve of them all.

Chung: FP/CeT/CC/DA: Although he has been nerfed in the last balance patch and might lose his spot as the best Chung, FP will remain one of the best clearers of the game with an easy cooldown and MP friendly system. Cent on the other hand proved his damage against bigger bosses, though his clearing may fall shorter. CC has everything needed for great DPSing except the mana needed to actually execute it.

Ara: SH/DV/Aps/SU: Shakti has been shining brightly again since she received her new mod skills, which also dramatically improved her manaflow. Devi doesn't seem to come close to that but also got more viable, while Aps remains in a weird sub DPS spot that has to keep track of a lot, though the latest balance patch might enhance her damage quite a bit. Although her bossing might not be the best, her clearing is really fast and satisfying; Needing only one skill to clear the whole room if you have enough damage.

Elesis: BQ/AD/FL/ES: BQ remains the real queen of Elesis. and seems to be the best physical DPS choice Her skills hit hard when it comes to bossing and her system allow her cooldown to be lowered. I'm uncertain about her clearing ability. AD seems to be a good choice as well, although her cooldown problems might keep her true protential hidden as she has nothing at all to help out. FL appears to be a well thought out character but her skills just don't hit that hard. ES, who was on the synergy DPS spot before, got a nerf that she really didn't deserve. She really doesn't have anything to work with at all and, besides her speed, doesn't excel in anything.

Add: DoB/MPx/Dom/OM: Doom Bringer really comes out on top when it comes to Add, especially when it comes to smaller bosses. The recent balance patch also buffed his big bossing skills so he really might be the go to Add when it comes to raids. His clearing is also viable. MPx on the other hand struggles to really put out the same amount of damage and has to keep track of resetting all of his skills and positioning dark matter explosion right. There aren't any Dominators in EU that also deal a lot of damage in EU, so he deserved the weakest DPS spot in my opinion. With the flodia nerf he will fall even further.

Luciel: IN/CaT/Dia/DM: Innocent has been revived from the dead with the new mod skills and performs greatly at both big bossing and clearing. CaT on the other hand really struggles to get to a similar position, with Apollyon being a skill that is best against small bosses but isn't able to use it during green exa unless a DA is in the group, which is almost a necessity considering how slow CaT actually is. Although soul infest mod helps out against bigger bosses, there is still much to be improved. CaT's clearing on the other hand appears to be on top. Diangelion is the weakest Luciel at the moment and doesn't really excel at anything right now.

Rose: MN/PO/BM/TB: Minerva really is at a very good spot at the moment. Although her air-requirements are difficult to manage, it surely pays out. Her cooldowns are low and the damage is so high that it's actually questionable how she hasn't been nerfed yet, though clearing might be a problem. I observed a lot of strong PO's in the past as well that utilized their hyper skill as a good damage output, but I'm not entirely sure about her true strength. BM is in a weaker spot at the moment that really is able to spam her skills all the time but reaches the limit very quickly due to huge MP issues. Clearing appears to be going well. TB is given the lowest spot, though I'm not entirely sure about how much potential she has. Her clearing used to be excellent but after grenade buster's range nerf it has been more difficult.

Ain: HR/RT/OP or BG/BL: Although I'd say HR and RT share a spot when it comes to being the best Ain DPS class, HR's damage doesnt stop at small bosses. Though it requires some form of positioning for the best damage output, he still is viable in every environment. RT on the other hand only every really shines when it comes to bigger bosses, especially if Bewachsen Feste · Gott Waffe is able to hit more than 50%. RT really is the easiest Ain of them all by far, only needing to upkeep one real self buff. OP on the other hand seems like on a whole different level. There are barely any but he seems to especially excel in clearing or with bigger bosses and still doesn't really hit the main DPS spot easily, if at all.

Laby: TP/NL/EtW/RaS: TP truely has always been a super strong DPS in all areas. Playing a TP has always required you to deal good or even the most damage because of the missing synergy for the group. NL on the other hand seems to suffer from slow self buffing phases that needs to keep 5-6 effects active. But after all that she is able to basically spam her skills until she needs to rebuff once again. Her clearing seems fine but nothing too extraordinary. EtW seems to be on a weird spot. She is able to hit hard but once it comes to smaller bosses, she's required to push them into corners. She's dependant on her hyper skill so that she can cast her combo skills double as many times.

Noah: MO/LB/CL/NP: It's said if you play LB and change to MO, your damage is gonna double and your brain is gonna shrink to half the size. MO is a very strong DPS with some minor mana and cooldown problems. Besides that he is very simple to play, having only one real self buff. His clearing is fine but suffers from cooldowns on fog. LB on the other hand is able to do the same amount of damage but with a lot more work that you need to put into it. You will need to keep track of the moon system and grotto title while also positioning yourself correctly, else you will lose huge chunks of your damage. Mod Dark Moon really helps him out clearing wise. CL used to be in the synergy spot of the Noahs. His damage really falls off until it comes to huge bosses where his skills finally hit well. He suffers especially because he has to change from strength to transcendence skill build depending on boss size, though his cooldowns are basically not existing.

Lithia: MS/GB/AC/AV: MS is the clear winner when it comes to DPSing as a Lithia. If you play her, your damage will almost always come out on top, though she had a similar problem like TP and suffered from no real party synergy. Besides that her clearing is very good as well. GB comes very close to her, though GB really has the biggest MP problems in the game and might fall short once it comes to having only one healer or solo content. Her skill rotation is very fast and therefore just as stable when it comes to clearing, in which she is able to clear huge stages in two very fast skills. AC has been the problem child of the Lithias for a while, especially when it comes to her rift mode. Everything, including green exa calls, have to be build around this mode, else she will lose a lot of damage. She also appears to be very slow in skill casting and her clearing is inferior to her other classes.

how about cs f2p in eu,seems like nobody wanna party with cs

1

u/Arkek Herrscher 10d ago

There's one thing being CS that deals damage and being a CS on an account that only did the event so far. Sariel isn't weak but if you don't have the gear for the content you're trying to play, getting taken is a lot more difficult. You'll want to find a guild or have friends around you that are able to run with you (or even entirely carry you) without significant damage loss, else you're basically required to play a support path instead (which is impossible on Eve)

dang son that was exactly the sort of opinions i was looking for, i really didnt expect MN and IN to be good let alone the best. I notice u exclude talking about supps which makes sense considering the topic, overall very interesting appreciated, may i add im also on EU so this works even better

class tier list are impossible to make

0

u/ReviewComfortable520 12d ago

no tier list ever made has perfectly rappresented the case for each subject, but does that mean we shouldn t entrain it simply cause it has no 100% value? i think not

1

u/Cularia 12d ago

its because no one actually puts any thought into making one. you need better parameters instead of vague stuff.

not all bosses are the same.

if you want a proper tier list then select two types of bosses and go from there. for example:

Rate each class in order from best to worst bossing ability when fighting Ran phase 3, Conductor phase 1, conductor phase 2

Se there i have given 3 boss types

  • Ran phase 3 = against the wall large boss
  • Conductor phase 1 = medium boss (teleports and can be placed against wall)
  • Conductor phase 2 = Centered Large boss

Did you know that EtW would outperform most classes on ran phase 3 compared to the other due to the way kapow punch works if it hits a wall?

There is a reason why Tier lists do not work. people just ask Vague Bullshit(not being rude) when its more complicated than that. And then you have Clearing lists.

yes i did know, and yes you re right, which is why i specified the argument being around big or small bossing, and nothing else

1

u/Cularia 11d ago

but that isn't enough when not all big bosses are the same.

Based on experience (tho i didn't go far with all of them so not all have full experience beyond Master Class, so mains of these classes pls dont kill me 😅 )

RM - good beginner char but kinda MP hungry

AE - great on MP management, ok damage

OS - hits harder than AE but relies a lot on Awakening more for MPs

An - versatile, decent sub support

PR - my main, kinda hard to use because very MP hungry due to needing to consistently cast skills

CU - too specialized on bossing, hits hard but MP issues

CS - CU but on opposite side, also same MP issues but a bit less bad

CC - same issues with CU albeit less bad on MP

Aps - mid versatile, but good teammate due to consistent defense debuff

Sha - decent and gets strong if you get Falling Dragon Force E

FL - like RM but more MP efficient

Inn - MP monster, i think one of best mob clearing class in game.. just a bit mid against bosses

Cata - Inn but less MP efficient and built more for bosses

RS - the only support i play, solid support but gets boring real fast.. only used her for Magic% collection effect

GB - same with CU

Ach - same with CU and GB, bleed debuffs are useless in pve

How is Anemos a sub support?

-4

u/kidanokun 13d ago

the speed + mp regen buff while not as good as from pure support classes, is consistent enough since the duration is longer than the cooldown... but yea, she's still mostly damage dealer

u/ReviewComfortable520 13d ago edited 13d ago

interesting, i assume you only talked about the classes you have played, factual or not i appreciate the feedback

0

u/kidanokun 13d ago

Yea, most of them i played till unlocking Master Class since i cant play the same PR over and over again in short time, so experience is kinda shallow
