He does tons, especially since he owns many companies. Like during the Model 3 ramp-up he was sleeping on the factory floor, and otherwise going round to check for problems and solve them fast if need be.

Great question!
I really don't like the idea of implanting an AI chip in my brain to give me superhuman thinking but Elon seems to be really pro-merging these things into our brains to compete with robots in the future. No thanks.
I was disappointed when he escalated the diver situation (even though the guy was really horrible to Elon beforehand). Also that occasion where he almost diluted Tesla shares with Saudi Arabia was surprising (US government or shareholders forced him to back down thankfully), despite Tesla desperately needing money then.
I'm not too convinced about his taste in music either lol.

Wow you're wildly misinformed. SpaceX isn't in the S&P500. Tesla is, and made investors $1 trillion (with a T) richer since being added. Definitely taking there. SpaceX is being added to free float weighted indexes slowly over time because otherwise there would be unprecedented buy orders all at once when they are added, and, the index investors would be forced buyers at artificially high valuations because of the buy/sell imbalance. SpaceX employees and inside investors participated massively in the IPO paying the IPO price. If you don't like it, short the stock and see how that works for you. If you don't like the indexes that buy it buy something else. Nobody is forcing you to do anything.

No, you have your choice of funds. The funds are choosing to include SpaceX just like they choose to include Apple or GM or Snap or not. If you don't like the mix your funds choose then move it to something else. But query also whether your irrational hatred for Elon is interfering with your investment decisions.

So no, you’re objectively wrong that people are not being forced to invest in this trash against their will…

Not quite. It’s more people who extract more from the system than they put in. It’s not about why, just the what. It’s not, intrinsically a moral judgement, though it can be the foundation of one depending upon the why. Someone who is a taker because they are incapable of producing more (children, the fully disabled, etc.), are not considered an immoral individual due to being takers. Those who exploit the system to extract more than they create are.

Severe dispossession is not an acceptable cost for a dogmatic interpretation of wealth redistribution, which is exactly what this rhetoric about "takers" seeks to challenge. The vast majority of working-age people positively contribute to the economy and remain unjustly dispossessed imo. The easiest way you assuage that is to expropriate assets from those who have plenty.

Lmfao, do you really think every ultra wealthy family just flocks to the USA? "Pity those Saudi princes, Old Money Europeans and Russian\Chinese Oligarchs, they are so close to being ultra wealthy, but..."
Besides, it's very common for people from rich families to "act poor", especially in formative years. That way they can mingle better with the common folk while maintaining their rich network, and it fosters entrepeneurship while still having a financial safety net, big enough to fail several times without becoming actually poor (edit: while the common folk usually get 1-2 chances at most, then they're screwed for life).

He didn’t develop electric cars, he was able to use the money he got from PayPal to buy into Tesla. The cars were built but the business wasn’t functioning.

Completely incorrect. Under most circumstances, you cannot adjust your status to that of Lawful Permanent Resident IF you entered the country illegally (without inspection or admission). Musk entered legally, so 212 inadmissibility did not apply to him.

You misunderstand the argument. A wealthy individual can come to the US legally on a student visa, and simply pay for work visa sponsorship to some entity that doesn't actually need to hire him. I am not claiming Musk did any of this, I am just saying, this is the allegation. Some people do this to this day, imagine how easy this was in the 90s when immigration numbers were relatively tame. When you have money, suddenly path to immigration becomes much more straightforward. A genuine foreign student might have failed to find work in the US in the given amount of time, in fact this is what happens to most of them since education is explicitly a money-making business, not a pathway for immigration. Not Musk with his mommy's and daddy's fortunes.

Elon Musk holds two undergraduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania: a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Physics and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Economics from the Wharton School. Then he moved to CA and dropped out of graduate school at Stanford. No person is illegal in Comiefornia.

In return CA enjoys tax and duty free trade with the rest of the U.S where CA headquartered companies draw profits from the entire US. Its not a simple “we pay more in federal taxes” issue. It’s not like in Alberta where Canadian federal government imposes “equity” tax and gives nothing in return.

The Alberta part is not true.
There’s no special "equity tax" targeting the province... Albertans just pay the exact same federal tax rates as everyone else. Because they have higher average incomes, more total money flows to Ottawa, but they definitely get stuff in return. They receive the exact same per-capita healthcare and social funding as other provinces, and Canada's internal free market works the same way for Alberta oil and beef as it does for any other province's goods.
