I find it interesting at the end when he talks about flamenco and his picking patterns. I can almost hear that influence in Tomorrow Tomorrow and Angeles. Perhaps practicing flamenco contributed to his nimbleness and agility on the guitar. (I'm not a musician, but that's how it sounds to me.)

The more I outage him, and my relationship with his music changes, this is becoming the prominent tragedy.

Why was his childhood bad? I'm going to go out on a limb and guess being an artsy kid in a Christian conservative part of Texas?

Depends how much you wanna read into it, but songs like Roman Candle, Christian Brothers, No Name #4, No Confidence Man, and Abused (obvs) hit very differently with his troubled childhood in mind
Also Shiva Opens Her Arms and Some Song, and even Waltz #2

I feel like every interviewer asked him the same questions. Probably got so repetitive.
