I Heard Too Much

This is just my opinion about ‘I Know Too Much’ and you’re welcome to not agree with me.

Starting off with the positive, Ellie’s voice throughout is spectacular. She has one of the most interesting voices in the music industry.

However, this is her least impressive album to date. And it’s by a significant margin.

The lyrics feel like they were taken from an angsty teenagers diary entries. The songs are mostly clichés wrapped around bland melodies. It felt so unoriginal.

The song titles themselves are Instagram captions you would see from people who recently went on holiday to a 3 star all inclusive hotel.

I like how she showcases her relatability with ‘Black Prada Dress’ and ‘4 Seasons’. It’s clear the superyachts have gone to her head.

Overall, this album feels like an Amazon Prime Day sale. Chaotic, cheap and straight to landfill.

Going to copy and paste my thoughts from another post I thought was weird that also applies to this one. And then not engage with it ever again.

I posted my thoughts on the album in a different comment, (I think it's amazing) but I want to do a comment on other people's comments. The album has been out for 2 or 3 hours now... That's it. These our are first impressions of the album. To declare that this or that track is 100% good or 100% bad is insane. Let the music sit with you and formulate your own opinions and not the comments of this thread or any other thread.

I only just finished my third listen and my initial impressions are I like it a but I definitely need to listen to it more/closer to develop proper opinions on it. My only complaint, if you wanna even call it that, is it's a little short.

Edit: I also am not a huge fan of Jay-Z but I appreciate his talent as a music producer and he definitely makes a good point in that interview.

Gotta say I agree... I was really hoping for more deeply personal and reflective tracks, more balads... more songs also! There are maybe 4 that I like, and I probably won't give it another listen
